Are we getting an extension from Prometric this year too?

The Prometric center has extended the testing window until 12/7 for the past two years because of weather. Anyone know if they are doing the same this year?

If they do the extension they announce it very last minute. This happened last year, everyone kept asking about it and there was no known announcement, and I randomly went to check available appointments on like 11/29 and the first week of Dec opened up and THEN they announced it.

Once they extend do we have to pay to reschedule?

When they extended because of how late in the month Thanksgiving fell they did it in October. When they extend for weather it can be last minute but I don't recall any extreme weather in the last few weeks that resulted in Prometric closings (yes, some places have gotten snow already but to the best of my knowledge it hasn't affected testing.) At this point I would think no, it won't be extended.

CPAlife if you choose to reschedule there is a fee. If your prometric is closed (blizzard, hurricane, etc) on your test date there is no fee.

I was told that they also extended the testing window to 12/07 in 2012, so that will be 3 years and counting. I hope they do the same this year, I could use the extra days.

2012 was around the time hurricane sandy happened, so that might have been the cause of the extension. I could use an extension also, I am supposed to take mine 11/30 but I don't think there are supposed to be any weather issues/storms anywhere.
2014 there was a snow storm somewhere, not sure what the reason was in 2013.

We do have winter storm CARA. For something less severe we got an extension last year and the year before.

The storms through the eastern part of the country this time of year last year were much more severe than anything I've heard predicted for this year. It would be possible that there would be an extension, but I definitely don't expect it.

I dont think it was more severe than what happened in Chicago last weekend, which was the second largest November storm since records began in 1884 (19 inches of snow).

I'm hoping for you but it's not looking good, remember NASBA is closed from now until Monday, so announcements are unlikely. Did you try going into prometric's website and see if December dates are available?

mla11692, I have been checking every day, but I don't think we will get an extension this year. Chicago's second worst winter storm on record came a week too early. Like you mentioned before, the last extension we got was announced one day before the window ended.

It may have been worse for Chicago this year than for many years before, but that doesn't mean it was worse for a substantial enough area for them to change, or late enough in the window for them to change. That was my point. A significant part of the country was severely affected the last few years, and I haven't heard of that happening this year.
