Take FAR lol. It's the most material and probably the hardest exam. I planned my exams by taking Hardest to easiest because of the 18 month window and I did not want to be stuck having FAR last. Too much pressure. BEC is all over the place, like it feels like the matrix where not much makes sense, and my exam questions were not covered in my review course, hence I had CFA questions, one question or two where the answer was not there. BEC by far was my worst testing experience. REG is all about minutia, it's the petty exam. I say that because a specific date, or two sentence rule can cause you to bomb an entire SIM.

@NYC good to know. I looked over chapter 1 of the BEC book (because I was sure I passed AUD) and was so confused and all over the place. Maybe tackling FAR isn't a bad idea…thanks!

was the first chapter Coso? I hated Coso, but I learned it already when I saw it for Audit. Corporate governance for BEC was easy because I learned it in REG. There is overlap between all sections.

First chapter was COSO and cost accounting…which seemed odd to jumble everything together

Oh, you're using Becker? I used Wiley, so cost accounting came later in the book.

Assessing control risk below the maximum level most likely would involve:

    A. performing more extensive substantive tests with larger sample sizes than originally planned.

B.reducing inherent risk for most of the assertions relevant to significant account balances.

C.changing the timing of substantive tests by omitting interim-date testing and performing the tests at year-end.

D.identifying specific control activities relevant to specific assertions.

    Anybody?

If control risk < maximum level then IC is working properly and we can rely on it to a certain extent… so, you're going to go ahead with control testing… D.

If control risk > max level then you abandon all hope of relying on IC and start hitting substantive testing hard…

You can't reduce IR, it exists independently of the audit. Garbage distractor. Performing more substantive testing and performing testing later in the year both imply IC is toast and CR > maximum.

Qlad, forget the lectures it's just more of the same crap, but the notes are money!! Just enough detail without being too abbreviated.

I've been just doing MCQ's through Ninja for the past two days, and I am so happy when I get over a 90 lol! I feel like I guess a lot for Ninja, but lowest I've gotten in this two day span is 83%, so it's been boosting my confidence.

@gabequinn Since you've taken the exam, is it easier or harder than Ninja? I need to know what I'm aiming for.

NASBA really punching my face. The letter telling me i failed Audit was so nice, they sent it twice!

Im so upset i run out of time, power and willingness, if i would put an extra week of studying, i kinda feel i would definitely pass. Back to Becker it is. Sorry Summer…

I sit July 19th, right before the close of the Window. One thing I've learned while taking these exams is to schedule as close to window close as possible, less time waiting for results.

    Kat,

Do Brooklyn proud! (former 77th and 17th resident here)

I think you – because of the language barrier – more than most could benefit from excluding incorrect answers based on certain key vocabulary words like never, always, cannot under any circumstances, etc… exclude two answers then STOP. Take a breath go back to the question, re-read and focus on the two you've identified as possibles.

Without addressing the topics tested, did you feel like you did alright on the SIMS? Froze up? Was your score better than last time?

It's a NYS thing, I got my letter twice as well.
