Audit today

Well, today was my first exam ever. I feel like I was pretty well prepared although my study schedule was not quite what I would want to do again. In a nutshell, I started studying maybe 2 months ago and got through the material pretty fast. I had sent for my NTS and of course it took them way to long to get it back. I emailed them at one point and the guy responded with “Oh, yea we got your stuff, I’ll tell them they should probably process your stuff” 8 days later I get my NTS which caused my to have to schedule my exam almost 2 weeks later than I wanted. I probably studied 80-100 hours, hard to know for sure other than I put in about 55-60 on CPAexcel itself.

My exam experience went better than I expected. The first testlet was really easy, and I had seen quite a few questions before (maybe not completely the same but extremely close). The second testlet was really difficult, all the questions were really really wordy, I think I flagged 5-7 (which were ones I wanted to think about a little more) and there were a few others that were questionable, but I think I narrowed them all down to 2 so my chances are pretty good! The 3rd testlet was a mix of hard and medium style questions I thought, like before I think I I narrowed them down pretty well. The sims were a weird mix, I want say really what but I had 2 research and the rest normal sims, 2 of which were REALLY hard, and really in my opinion I wasn’t really prepared for by CPAexcel.

Really, I didn’t think it was THAT bad, I really tried to take my time but still got finished almost 1.5 hours early. Although it probably isn’t recommended to finish that early, if I happened to fail it won’t be blamed on leaving early, but lack of motivation 2 weeks before exam. I will say (well, really I won’t say) I was really surprised the exam tested 2-3 different things for a VAST majority of the exam.

Starting tomorrow, I start learning BEC, bring it on May 28.

OP: It's great that you feel good about the test. I usually never know how I did or know that I absolutely failed (but still pass). I would love just once, to come out of an exam feeling good about it. Good luck on your score!!

So I'm not asking you what was on the test. But if you were to tell me 2-3 different things to focus on on my last 2 weeks before aud what would that be. Again I don't want to know what was on the test, that would be breaking the rules 😉

    FAR 62, 66, 78
    AUD 66, 55, 74, 72
    BEC 79
    REG

I don't know if feeling good about it is necessarily how I feel, it's strange feeling really. I would not be surprised if I failed or passed. I don't really know what to think! The mystery behind the scoring system keeps one from really having much of a clue!

Well I flagged so many in the first testlet that I stopped flagging because I was about to cry. Half of my test was me narrowing it down to 2 and then making an educated guess at that point so it sounds to me like you are in better shape than I was. I'm sure you did great!

That's exactly how I felt in the 2nd testlet, and partially in the 3rd. But hey, thats why we are all accountants we can generally handle having to make educated guesses because so much is never cut and dry.
