What does “Scope” mean in terms of auditing? Like I know people refer to “the scope” as the body paragraph of an opinion letter.

    -There is a “scope” limitation

Simplified: Scope just indicates the parameters covered in the audit – for example, it can be related to a time period (Jan 2013 to Jan 2014), specific accounts, or division of some type within a company. Generally, an audit covers very specific parameters and we announce those limits at the time we start the audit and then state it again in the audit report (to clarify to the “reader” what was looked at in the audit).

Scope is everything you see through your glasses.
