How many of you guys use the authoritative literature tab to help find answers to the simulation questions? Does it prove to be a useful tool during the exam?

I’m taking REG on Monday and haven’t spent much time navigating the authoritative literature tab. Thanks!

I used it on REG back in November and it saved me…I'm convinced I aced a Sim purely because I double checked some items in the authoritative literature.

    FAR - PASSED 11/2009 - EXPIRED, PASSED 11/2012
    REG - PASSED 1/2011 - EXPIRED, PASSED 11/2012
    AUD - PASSED 5/2011
    BEC - PASSED 11/2011
    ETHICS - PASSED 12/2012

I'm such a moron. I'm practicing the SIMS right now and am being assisted so much by the Authoritative Literature tab. I failed REG in November and never even thought to use the tab.

Are there any decent write-ups on research tips on this site? I am doing terribly in practice. I had a practice sim on the failure-to-pay failure-to-file penalties and I couldn't find the rules for the life of me.

I don't know of anything. Let me know what you find out. I'm starting to become familiar with it just by clicking and trying new things. I'm crazy for having not used this in the past.

Yes, you must use this to aid you in the SIMS. It saved me in REG, AUD and FAR. The only piece of advice I have for you is to utilize the “search within” function. This option allows you to narrow down the results that are returned to you when you execute a search; you will save time and most likely find the right answer.

Yep, AL tab is my best friend.

    FAR - 79 - 07/2012
    AUD - 65, 78 - 11/2012
    BEC - 76 - 11/2012
    REG - 78 - 01/2013
    ETH - 98 - 01/2013

    Material: Wiley books

AL will help you pass. Trust me, it is very useful.

I'm echoing with the rest here. Use ANY extra time double checking your work with the AL tab. I finished AUD with quite some time left and utilized nearly all of it double and triple checking my sims to make sure I had the right mindset.

    BEC - 85
    FAR - 72, 80
    REG - 79
    AUD - 81

Used only Becker. Let the book burning begin!

My question is to those who have already taken REG. I am listening to the Wiley audios for REG and it keeps referring to publication 17 being included in the AL for the exam. However, I don't see it when I'm doing the Becker sims. I would like to know whether it will actually be there on exam day.

Also, is it me or does becker include only the part of the literature necessary for the Research component of the sims? (wrong path????!!!)

    AUD 01/17/2013 (92)
    REG 02/28/2013 (85)
    FAR 04/26/2013 (85)
    BEC 05/30/2013 (88)
