Just took AUD today and found out I didn’t pass REG…now my BEC credit is expiring 🙁

Anyone have a test expire on them? Feeling disappointed in myself for failing so many times..

How are you preparing for your exams?

Based on the score history in your signature section of the post above, I think you should step back and change your exam preparation strategy and study habits.

    FAR - 86
    REG - 85
    BEC - 90
    AUD - 84

I'm currently using Becker and Ninja Notes/Audio to study. I have a full time job, so I try to study about 3 hrs/day on the weekdays and 10 hrs on the weekend. I read each chapter, do the multiple choice questions and SIMs after, and if I get them wrong, I write it down. I also rewrite my notes during my final week of review and try to go through as many multiple choice questions as I can.

I'd recommend increasing your review period to 2 weeks, maybe 3 weeks for FAR and REG.

You're studying a good amount each week. How many weeks total are you spending on each subject before you test?

Something I do to make my time more efficient is that I use my resources as I work through MCQs, rather than guessing. That way I'm always focusing on the material and reinforcing correct answers, rather than incorrect guesses.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

@Kimboroni, I spent a lot of time studying for BEC and FAR (months), which was not efficient and smart of me. I learned that the hard way of course and have spent 4-5 weeks on REG and AUD before my credit expires on me. Because of the less time spent studying for REG and AUD, my review week has only been a week or so. I will definitely try to review for 2 weeks or more. I find that with less time, it was difficult for me to get through the material quickly since there's so much time spent taking notes and writing down wrong answers. Do you have any tips on how you reviewed the weeks prior to the test?

What works for me during review is doing MCQs (focusing on weak areas but not neglecting the strong ones), rereading my book, and making notes on the things I'm having trouble remembering. That's also when I use some of Jeff's supplemental products like Ninja Notes, Blitz, and/or Flashcards. (I use Ninja Audio in the car throughout my whole study period.)

4-5 weeks is good for AUD. It's a bit short for REG I think– still lots of material on that one. I work full time and did REG in 7 weeks, which seemed about right. Too many months of study usually isn't that effective. You keep forgetting stuff.

I'm usually panicing during review week. Feel like I'm going to forget everything!! But I'll def try your study methods and reviewing for two weeks. I think that will be helpful once the exam comes around. Do you practice any SIMS or practice exams during review week?

I do some sims, but no practice exams. I found that practice exams aren't that helpful, as they are scored so differently from the real exam that the score can throw off my confidence.

Spot on. I take FAR in 2 weeks and it's hard to stay focused. I'm decent on most material and I find if more effective to really cram near the end. Right now I'm doing a light review of things to keep it fresh and will really hit it hard the few days before to make it stick.

Plus the stress is killing me. Just want it over with.
