    Hi Ninjas!

I’m in need of your awesomeness! I’m currently reviewing for BEC. I’m scheduled to sit April 1st so apparently Im an April fool. With 10 days from D-Day I would like to ask what everyone did to review for BEC. I have gotten completely bored with the material although I am not as familiar as I need to be for exam day. Please Help!

So far Ive started rewriting my notes and reading some of the chapter outlines as well as reviewing the ninja notes a countless number of times. I have also done a few MCQs but I plan to hit them harder soon.

Any tips? There are so many unrelated topics in BEC to study I am just feeling overwhelmed and confused on how to proceed with review.

    AUD - 77
    BEC - 81
    FAR - 75
    REG - 79

I would make sure you know how to calculate ROI and ROA, in all situations, and know the ratios.

It would help if you have those fresh in your head so that you can write them down on your scratch page, first thing, before starting the test.

    B:76
    A:64, 73, 91!
    R:77
    F:76

I would say, do more MCQ's until you get sick of them, and some more.

Don't underestimate the WC, I fail BEC twice with 73 because of the WC's, it is a good part of the exam and a little preparation can be a difference between pass and fail.

    My advice would be:

    1) Memorize and understand as many formulas as you can for use in both calculation and theory questions.

    2) Do as many MCQs before the exam as you possibly can. I only had 2 days of MCQ review before my exam and feel as though those 2 days had more to do with my passing score than any of the lectures or written material I studied did. For questions that you get wrong, write little fact nuggets down on those questions in your notes. I had about 6 pages of these I studied the morning of the exam and they were very helpful.

    3) If you have time to intensely study one particular topic, I would recommend focusing on the IT section. I didn't spend much time studying that section since I felt the material seemed fairly easy when I browsed it and let me tell you, that was a BIG mistake.

    4) Develop (or find) a good template that you can use for each of your WC questions. Although I primarily used Roger, NINJA, and the WTB to study, I did also thoroughly go through the 2013 AICPA Released Questions with explanations provided by Becker. That set has great WC samples you can easily adapt to each of your WC questions and having a general idea of what information needs to be included in each question will save you time on the exam and will get you points even if you don't have time to finish all of the WC questions.

    5) Speaking of the AICPA Released Questions- add them to your study material!

If nothing else, though, just hammer away at those MCQs. You will be glad that you did.

@NYCaccountant I'm almost ashamed to say …but I'm scoring really low like 50%-60% and using Becker. As I go through the homework my scores are going up but I cant get past 75%. BEC is really not coming together for me and I'm over here freaking out with 9 days left.
