What’s a must know in the IT section of BEC material?

    FAR - 75
    AUD - 78
    BEC - 82
    REG - 77

    2 Corinthians 5:21

Our value does not come from our skills and abilities, as good as they may be; it does not come from our GPA, our job, a promotion from that job to a better job, our success on the CPA exam, or anything of the like; but our value comes from the fact that we have a Creator who loves us, cares for us, and desires to help us navigate the rough waters of this life in a way that provides security, hope, and true, everlasting joy while we anticipate the life to come, with Him.

haha – IT – I don't even know how to break it down but I remember knowing the differences between jobs (Librairian, Programmer, etc) was important. I very well versed in IT but the job functions threw me for a loop.

Lots of NINJA MCQ's about that.

    AUD - NINJA in Training
    BEC - 86
    FAR - NINJA in Training
    REG - NINJA in Training
    AUD - 71, 73

    BEC - 74, 86

    REG - 77*

    FAR - 57

    *expired

(I have been trying to become a CPA since 2013). only one test down.......

    FAR: 63, 55, 62
    REG: 65, 77*
    AUD: Fail, 64, 71
    BEC: 72, 74, 81

    *expired

You need to know the job functions and the controls related to the segregation of duties, e.g. why should systems analysts and programmers not share duties?

Know about disaster recovery and business continuity.

Know the different data storage and data processing methods.

Know the various types of reports you get from IT systems (ad hoc, periodic, etc.) and the various types of systems and what they are for (decision-support, executive, transaction processing, etc.).

You should also know the COBIT framework and be able to classify examples of IT processes within the different domains of the framework.

Know about electronic data interchange (what it's used for, the costs and risks associated).

Know the different access controls and what each type would be used for (physical controls, firewalls, etc.).

I've also heard people say that they got a lot of questions about cloud-based computing and the risk and control issues associated with it, perhaps because this is becoming a more relevant issue.

There is a good article that someone posted in the Quarter 1 or Quarter 2 study group about Cloud based computing. I can try and find it when I have an actual work break
