I’m trying to figure out what is the best way to approach the simulation questions. This is my first time taking a part for the CPA exam so I’m just a little unsure of what to expect. Any help or advice is awesome!

This is a really helpful thread that someone posted in the BEC study group thread when I was prepping for BEC:

It has great advice that I feel I successfully applied when I sat for the exam. I don't know if I passed yet, but I doubt that my WC will be what causes a fail.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

I didn't practice them at all. They are only 15% of your score in BEC. All you really have to remember is to use proper grammar, repeat the question, and throw in as many key terms as possible. Studying to make sure those key terms are readily accessible is a much better use of your time. But make sure you practice for the SIMS in the other 3 sections. They are very important.

If English is your first language and you are a college graduate this will not be a problem. However even under these assumptions I suggest practicing three timed responses so you will be prepared on test day.

I am yet to get my score but my tip to you is to make sure your response matches the question. For example, if they tell you to compare make sure you draw comparisons. If they ask you to describe make sure to include a description. Rewrite as much of the question as you can.

I wouldn't sweat them. The questions are not graded for technical accuracy.

Just make sure you tailor your message to the intended audience and make sure there are no spelling or grammar mistakes and you'll be fine.
