    @h0wdyus

    Incorrect

The answer is B. Comparable sales.

“The use of comparable sales is not an income approach to valuation of a business, it is a market approach. Under the comparable sales approach, the value of a business is determined by comparing it to other entities with comparable characteristics for which the value is more readily determinable.”

    This was a tricky one

@NJ me too- I'm going through the IT sections and the amount of conceptual information is staggering. I have an entire stack of index cards devoted to IT Terms. Why does an accountant need to know how many bytes are in a MB? Give me a formula!

Yeah.. I think i've decided that doing note cards is the best idea going forward. Thank Goodness I realized this at chapter 3 instead of 15. lol

So much writing and so little time to do it all. ugh.

I'm so glad B2 is over with. Cost accounting isn't that bad (although I'm still struggling a little bit with variance analysis) but holy crap is it boring. Onward to greater things.

It seems like B3 is capital management stuff, at least! I taught myself basic finance concepts to test out of the required finance course in college, and this doesn't seem to differ that much so far.

@James For the variance, read the last sentence first and then read the paragraph. That's the trick to those questions.

@Amanda..I am using Roger and the entire NINJA package and am applying the NINJA method. I watched all my videos and took a ton of notes. I did the homework for all the chapters after that. I went back through just the book chapters and did notes again of formulas and key concepts. Overall, I have 7 legal pads of notes and homework Q&As. I feel that it is waaaayyyyy too much and overwhelming. I listen to NINJA audio on the way to work and on the way home..in total about an hour per day. I can't say that I have gone back to any of my notes for much. Mainly just for concepts that seem totally foreign or that I am extremely poor at and need a constant refresher on. I do at least 60 MCQs a day, but regularly do 90 – 30 from Roger and 60 from NINJA. NINJA is way more difficult. This is all on top of work and family.

IT is/was the easiest section for me. I'm a bit of a tech geek, but I had the same thoughts that you are having about that section. Why do accountants need to know so much about IT? I get it from an audit perspective. Just think about that section logically because that is how computers operate – on logic.

Has anybody ever made their own audio on put it on their phone or MP3 device to listen to in the car? I am considering that for all of those cost accounting formulas to listen to over and over and hope that it sinks in. I plan to type them out a bunch of times today too.

I think IT is definitely important to understand, to an extent. It's really frustrating that we're expected to know minute details about programming and different parts of LAN as financial auditors. They have the CISA exam specifically for the IT auditors…not financial auditors. My dad went to MIT for software engineering and I've had him look at some of the questions on Becker and he even says that they're not very good questions and they tend to be somewhat convoluted.

Some of the IT questions on my test were horrible!! My guess is they were pre-test.

It looks like work will be pretty busy for me this the next few weeks and then on top of that I have family in town next week for the holiday. I will probably end up testing at the end of August! Anyone else?

Hopefully I can catch up the last few weeks of July! I am getting to the point that too much time away from studying really bothers me. I just want to get it done!!! — end rant —

Wannabe – same here. I have “finished” B1 but will have to contantly look back/review to get a better foundation on the formulas and homework. Started B2 but I think it will take me a few weeks just with my schedule and how long the lectures and homework are. I don't do well with such long lectures, not fun!

I think I plan on August 29th to test. Eeek it seems like a while but I know it will come quick.

I feel like this test is going to be a struggle. I've gotten through B1-B4 and will be doing B4 and B5 in the next week. I studied SO much for FAR and spent so much time going back over everything constantly and I just don't have the time to do that for this test but I can't move it back. I am doing all of the MCQs and memorizing formulas and I'm okay on the homework but I just feel like it's going to be a rough test.

Stay POSITIVE !!! .. It is not Impossible …. Dont get discouraged !!! I know its hard . B2-B3 are definately giving me the hardest time . I am not too fond of Financial Risk management . Trying to stay focused is my strategy !!!

Keep at it, Amanda. You did great on BEC once, at least, and I'm sure you can do it again.

That said… yeah, BEC is quite a bit harder than I thought it was going to be. I started with FAR (hard), then did AUD (cakewalk), and I figured BEC would be around the same stress level that AUD was. It isn't.

We've just gotta keep powering through it.
