Has anyone done great on practice exams, but did not pass the real exam?

Took my first Becker practice exam in REG. Scored 84.

For my previous sections, I usually score anywhere from 68 to 76 on practice exams, then do a little better on the real thing.

I don’t want to get confident from my practice score of 84.

I’ll still take another Becker practice exam and continue working on my weakest areas.

    Just wanted feedback from others.

    FAR - 86 - 2/27/14
    AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
    BEC - 80 - 8/31/14
    REG - 89 - 2/27/15
    Praise Jesus! I'm done!!

    Hi,

I just have a question about the review material. Is it similar to how the college text teaches you? Similar to a refresher course?

One day I will face that exam.

The Becker material is different from a college text because it's specifically geared toward information covered in the exam, including key words and things to look for.

I believe it's more than a refresher course, if you mean refresher of the info learned in college.

Actually, I believe it covers more detail than what I learned in college courses – but then, again, I took my required accounting courses to sit for the CPA exam at a community college, so maybe that's why it feels like Becker is more detailed.

    AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
    BEC - 80 - 8/31/14
    REG - 89 - 2/27/15

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking about getting the Roger material once I am eligible but I did not know whether it just refreshed your memory of what you were taught in school. But from what you're telling, it sounds like I do not need to memorize each and every accounting book I come across in each course because that review material is going to not only refresh my memory but break things down even more for me to pass. I am just lost as to exactly what I need to remember from college other than basic accounting principles such as debit this credit that.

One day I will face that exam.

Considering I did horrible on both the Practice Exams (with the multiple choice) I'd consider that to be a good score

    AUD - 08/04/14 - 83
    FAR - 11/29/14 - 80
    REG - 02/26/15 - 89
    BEC - 05/30/15 - 86

    DONE!
