Just got through my review through chapter 9. Should I do chapter 10 or just IFRS differences and focus on the rest of the material? I plan on looking at SIMs for a little and doing a bunch of progress tests. Any suggestions? I feel pretty good about governmental and NFP.

NFP, Gov't, IFRS differences and SIMs.

Doesn't matter how good you feel about govt and NFP…study it again. I just had mine this morning. Know journal entries for the entire study material. Know how to combine various sections into one sim. Pray you do OK. Wait. Get your 75. Smile.

    FAR - November 2014 - 78
    BEC - January 2015 - 81

    DONE!!!!

Used Becker online. Who needs a text when you can burn your eyes out staring at the screen for months on end?

It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you're hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"

On Chapter 10, I would focus on the IFRS differences only. And I agree with reviewing the NFP/Gov material – you will most likely see a lot of questions on those topics on exam day.

I took FAR last month (just found out I passed today), and I seriously thought I was gonna fail because of the sims. They were killer! Out of the 7, I felt comfortable on 3, not so good on 2, and ran out of time for 2 of them, so I just randomly filled them in so I wouldnt leave them blank! And I still managed to pass with a 77…

So here is my advice for the FAR sims: as long as you know how to do the calculations and journal entries for the MCQ portion, you will be prepared for the sims. In my experience, the sims on becker are way easier than the ones I saw on my exam. They are good for seeing the different types of formats the sims could be in on exam day. But no matter how much you look over the sims and review them, you will probably see a few that will throw you off. Just dont panic, and try to answer them as best as possible and dont leave anything blank

@602kid, you made me feel a bit better. I took FAR today…MCQ ere OK, not great, not horrible but my sims were a mess. I didn't run out of time, but doesn't mean I knew what I was doing. Just hoping on December 9 to see that beautiful 75

@OnMyWay732 after I took FAR last month I was feeling pretty depressed because I thought there was a strong chance I was going to fail. Like I said, I thought I did ok on the MCQ, but the sims killed me. As long as you felt you did ok on the mcq, and felt good on at least 3 sims + the research question, I think you have a good chance of passing. And the fact that you didnt run out of time tells me you had enough time to go over the sims and make educated guesses on the ones you didnt know.

Good luck to those taking FAR this upcoming week!
