What kinds of questions/expectations do the interviewers have for an experienced hire associate interview?

    Thanks!

Tell me a little about yourself

    Why our firm?

Where do you see yourself in ___ years?

Talk about an experience in your life that _____

    Weaknesses/Strengths

Basically the usual interview questions. Just know your resume inside and out and be able to talk about any part of your resume, smile, have nice posture (sit up straight), try to look interested and pay attention to everything they say to you, make eye contact to appear confident. Have questions prepared also.

The good thing about associates is nothing is expected of us. Most of us are all just young and inexperienced.

Tough times don't last. Tough people do.

How experienced? What level will you be coming in at?

I would imagine the questions will differ significantly if you're going to be hired as a staff, senior or manager.

Hi! I just had four interviews with people at different levels with the big 4 for an experienced tax associate position. I believe it went generally well. I would say, just like others have stated, know your resume in and out. Also, try to be confident in your abilities and be able to explain what you do and if you can, try to use relevant experience.

Some questions that I was asked were situational:

Explain a time when you had to use your resources to solve a problem.

Describe a time when you faced a big challenge and what did you do to solve it.

    also had these same questions:

    Why our firm?

Where do you see yourself in ___ years?

Talk about an experience in your life that _____

    Weaknesses/Strengths

My friend that referred me said to be personable, they just want to make sure that you are a good fit with their company. They also emphasize teamwork, so talk about how you work great on teams and that you generally get along with people well.

Thank you everyone for the good advice.

@acamp – I will be interviewing for an experienced associate position for the business valuations team. I just have 1 year of work experience under my belt.
