I passed two and have two more to go but what would happen if you had to move or relocate to a different state? They won’t let you take it in a different one, right?

I actually know the answer to this!! We had been contemplating on moving back home to Arizona, so I called both my home and Arizona State BOA to verify what to do.. Still apply to take the exams wherever you started, and then you can just schedule for a location thats close to you in the new state. Then if you stay in that state, you would just need to transfer your scores.

    FAR - 61, retake 1/22

    AUD - 2022

    REG - 2022

    BEC - 2022

No you can take exams in a different state

Example I was living in Texas and I was doing the CPA exams through California.

It was okay. I could keep taking the CPA exams in Texas pro metric center. So you are not messed up 🙂

After you pass all four exams if you want to “transfer out” of your state to another state meaning you want to gain a Texas License instead of the California one – that is where you would have to see what Texas will ask in to meet as their “requirements” are different to getting licensed than California is.

Each state will be different in respect to getting licensed and you would have to work with the state you want to get licensed in.

For exam sitting – that should not be an issue.

    Hope this makes sense.

So I might be in this situation. I might hv to take my FAR exam in CT. I am a CA candidate and will be taking all other exams here in CA but prob only FAR in CT. I called the CA board and a very nice lady confirmed that its very much doable and my scores will be posted through CA board. So I won't have to transfer anything.

I am hoping this is the case and when it is time to apply for the license that they do not make an issue of this. After reading all your posts it does seem like a common practice.

No issues to be had 2014 CPA!

I lived in MA for a few years and took all of my exams there but had applied for all parts under CA…I got through the CA licensing process relatively unscathed (I did have to send them a copy of my marriage cert. to verify my name change : p)
