I am currently using CPAexcel, and honestly, it is not working. I just can not pay attention to the sheer volume of the material in the videos and study text. I am thinking about just going over Ninja Notes, Ninja Audio, CPAexcel MCQ, and Ninja MCQ until the exam date, which is October 11. Would this be a good idea?

In all honesty, everyone is different on how they absorb the material. I passed REG with only Ninja Notes, Audio, Flashcards and Wiley Online Test Bank. I did the same for BEC and don't feel too positive about the exam (waiting on score). So it's a hit or miss. One thing is for sure, I got rid of the video lectures. Me personally I do not absorb any material when I watch a video. I have to dig into a book or use flash cards over and over to absorb it.

I also use CPA Excel and generally I think it is pretty good. I rarely watch the videos though. Only if it is either too complex or too boring to read. If you go through the material and watch the videos, that can take a long time. Maybe try just reading? It seems like a waste of money to buy more materials. Have you taken any exams yet?

The only parts of CPAexcel I've used are the study text and exam questions with supplementing Ninja Notes and MCQ. I feel that it worked best for me since videos bore me to death. I have to sit and read and do tons of MCQ. We'll see how that worked for FAR in 5 days…ugh

    FAR 8/18/2014--87
    AUD 10/18/2014--78
    REG 11/24/2014--76
    BEC 2/28/2015--76

I personally did not like CPA Excel. I have to say, though, I bought my materials over three years ago and only got halfway through the FAR material when I decided I didn't want to be a CPA anymore. I was cheap and bought their lowest option, which happened to come with free videos for FAR. I hated the videos. I thought they were pretty much worthless. I also hated the study materials…from the way the material was split to the writing style in general. Clearly, I didn't do my research when selecting a study plan.

Long story short, I started a new job that paid for Becker and decided to give it another try. I'm the type of learner that needs good videos and I can stomach Becker. I think it really depends on what type of learner you are. I have some friends that used CPA Excel and loved it. If it's not working for you and you have the money, I say try something else.

Don't watch the videos, only if you need some help in a particular section, and 9 out of 10 times, the professor on the lecture is basically reading from the book, so it's not much help.

So far I've done okay with just doing the exam questions, and outlining the book. Then the week prior doing a gazillion MCQs.

I have passed REG and BEC.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'm thinking of just reading the textbook and try to finish it by September 23. Also, I plan to do random sets of MCQ on the weekends and go over Ninja Notes and Ninja Audio. Once I finish the textbook by September 23, then it's non-stop Ninja MCQ. Does that sound good?

    Yes, sounds like a plan.

Focus on the MCQ's for a while. Learn from the solutions to the MCQ's.

Write notecards on the rules that you need to remember. Group the cards by topic and wrap each topic in a separate rubber band. This will make it easier for you to flip through when you need to reference a topic again.

Honestly, I believe it's a trial and error thing. I tried SEVERAL different ways to study before I found one that worked. (So far, I've passed FAR and AUD. Waiting on BEC score, so hopefully, I only have REG left??)

If this method doesn't work for you, you might consider Roger CPA. His lectures are much more engaging. I don't use the entire program, but I've watched several of his videos on youtube. They have been a great supplement to what I'm using.

Also, a friend of mine switched from Yeager to Roger. She LOVES the Roger lectures and feels that she is finally learning the information that she did not learn with Yeager.

    FAR - 86 - 2/27/14
    AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
    BEC - 80 - 8/31/14
    REG - 89 - 2/27/15
    Praise Jesus! I'm done!!
