Confession time…

Seems after getting my failing grade in AUD I have no motivation what so ever to study for BEC, which by the way is scheduled for the 27th. I am doing my final review now, but if I’m being completely honest I went through the book the first time half assed. So now it is time to buckle down and get this OVER AND DONE WITH. I am on B-2 in the Becker book and just hoping I can find time to study from now until the 27th…. with two kids at home and a hubby who has been working 6-7 days a week lately because of Valentines day (he’s a general manager at a restaurant here in WA) it is HARD to get some GOOD studying time in.

Thinking I need to just pound out MCQ’s until D-DAY … possibly I need to purchase the Wiley testbank as well? Thoughts?

Needing the motivation to get through this exam so I can start my retake studying for AUD (YIPPY)

I watched Becker lectures, read the book, and did the MCQ's once + one week of progress tests……….I was not feeling good about my performance and decided to switch to Wiley test bank last Monday, I am feeling much better about the material now.

I will take the test the 19th…so, I will not know if my change of strategy worked until then…My recommendation, get Wiley test bank and work MCQ's like crazy 😉

    Good Luck!!!

Whatever you do make sure to watch the Written Communication video! It's only 15% of the grade but it's easy points if you watch the video and know what to do beforehand.

    REG (7/7/11) 75
    FAR (7/28/11) 76
    BEC (8/27/11) 81
    AUD (10/15/11, 1/20/12) 63, 91

    DONE!!!

I know very well how hard your situation is. So look @ your kids and hubby and weigh this: is it worth them making a HUGE sacrifice for the next 2 weeks if it spares them having to go through these 2 weeks plus 4-6 more if you had to retake AUD? Its ok for you to focus on yourself and your studies right now. In fact its good for your family too! Order out, get delivery, let the dishes & laundry pile up, miss a PTA meeting, let the kids buy school lunch instead of making their lunch. In the grand scheme nobody will even remember it!

    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!

@AshleyCap c'mmon you CAN and WILL pass BEC! Please don't discouraged, we're in this together, and we'll survive it…just keep at it! I highly recommend Wiley Testbank btw… I haven't taken BEC, but for AUD and FAR, it was awesome!

@AshleyCap – Naah, you misinterpreted your dream. The 22 was on the first page of the 4 page exam, and you didn't check how many points you got on the other 3. Good news, you passed! 🙂

Thanks everyone I really appreciate it. I think my problem is finding time to actually get GOOD studying time in. It is VERY hard for me to concentrate at home …. really let's be really honest it's all excuses. I need to just get at it and stop and also start lining up some more baby sitters – I definitely need some help.

oh mla I am definitely trying to just “let things go” and make sacrifices but ahhhh a messy house DRIVES ME NUTS.

One exam down 3 to go…. buckling down for the next 11 days! I do not want to reschedule this :/ And I do think I will be purchasing Wiley I've heard nothing but great things about it.

As long as we're confessing… I have the hardest time not flat out falling asleep when I'm trying to study. Especially if the topic is something I've never done before. I'm taking FAR in 11 days, and I just now got to the section about governmental, which I know is really important for me to know. So I'm staring at it and my eyes keep closing. Awesome. How can I possibly pass this thing?

    REG- 53, 91
    BEC- 88
    FAR- 62, 85
    AUD- 85

    Ethics- 93

    Ash…

My first AUD score was also a 68…

Just blame it on the day. I was feeling like that a couple of days ago… and the good people of this forum cheer me up.

You do know you WILL pass the exam.

I don't remember for which test was it,: a friend of mine texted me right before entering the exam.. It was something like:

“great warriors are not those who win, but those who never give up”

    Don't ever give up.

    B - 62, 70, 72, 79!!!
    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82
    F - 84

    @Ashley

Keep the faith. You passed FAR and that is a tough one. I know you can pass the rest of them. Give yourself a break, it is totally normal to “lose it”, get it out of your system and then get right back on. You can get past BEC! And then you will run down Audit. Kudos to you for walking this path with little ones. I can't imagine how tough that would be.

    You got this!!

    @Mchro12 – HAHA

Ok so I purchased the Wiley test bank for BEC today and my first run through – 65% ouch. Will keep plugging away! I like the Wiley test bank especially since I can do the 20 question pop quizzes.

What do you guys do when you're studying with Wiley? Do you do all the questions once through then do the 20 questions quizzes?

FINALLY…. A place to call home among people who really understand what I am going through. I choked completely on FAR back in September (i think), I was so discouraged that I am just now ready to go on to AUD. I got my NTS but am not sure when to schedule because this is soooo not exciting to me anymore. Yet, I know that I have to do it. How do you find the motivation, maintain the momentum, and PASS

I think I'm getting to old to study, my kids are no longer small enough for me to just put to bed at 5pm, and I am always hungry.

Building up the passion, I guess. I cannot put this off any longer. Where do I begin?

@tbennett – I just keep remembering the reasons why I began…. plus trying to prove to myself and others who I feel don't think I can pass this exam that I CAN!

Put kids to sleep @ 5PM!?!?! ha gosh I wish I do sometimes get away with 7:30 but that's about the earliest dang it! I tend to do better if I study in the morning as opposed to night because by that time I'm exhausted and just can't concentrate on anything.

Oh I'm always hungry too… definitely doesn't help, just gotta get hungry to pass the CPA! Ok ok that was a little corny i admit 😉

YOU CAN DO THIS! I completely know how it feels to fail an exam. It's hard to pick back up for the fear of failing is strong, but you'll never know unless you try!

Purchased Wiley and I have to say that I like it! Hope it helps me with BEC I definitely could use all the help I can get at this point… I think I was getting tired of staring at Becker MCQ's ha!

@jjm I have – isn't that awful? UGH. I honestly probably could have been “OK” on this exam, but I did not want to take feeling just OK when I just failed AUD. I think two fails in a row and I might just lose it….. I am basically starting all over again studying since I have 5 weeks practically to study. If I don't pass this test I don't think I'll know what to do with myself….

After BEC I'll have 3 weeks to restudy AUD and take that before April 30th (when my REG review course starts)…. doable? we'll see!

Hoping you get a passing score with REG so you can be over and done with this exam!
