I am recently started a GL accountant position at a publicly traded medical devices company with about 1000 employees. The job responsibility was initially GL accountant but once I started I learned that beside some GL works, another big duty would be multi-company transactions and consolidation (about 30 international entities). I think it’s a great opportunity to learn something new, especially my new manager is training my whole heartedly. I am putting in a lot extra effort to learn now, and I am just curious how valuable the consolidation experience would be for my future career. Any input is greatly appreciated.
