Hi have Wiley Platinum. The good thing about Platinum is the virtual course series. It can help fill in holes but the book and lectures, are so dang DRY and BORING. I made it through the entire course for BEC, but still took 3 attempts to pass BEC. I couldn't stomach AUD for even a day with Wiley so I switched to Ninja 10 Point combo and then Roger. I am personally one who NEEDS the engaging lecture to put it all together for me…it's actually more like a conversation. Some folks think Roger is too much and can can be annoying though. The Ninja book is easier to read and more succinct but Roger's book, organization and explanations were like a light bulb going on for me. Well, I hope that's the case – I'll know Dec 9. Anyways, figure out how you study best… can you just read a book then hammer MCQs, or do you need an engaging lecture.

    BEC 65, 71, 75
    AUD 62, 70, 78
    REG 67, 66, 65, 66, 64
    FAR 68, 64, 73

    BEC - 75 (3x)
    AUD - 78 (3x)
    REG - 67, 66, Aug 1
    FAR - 54, Sept 8

I have Platinum for FAR, and I like it. The live virtual classes go a little fast for me, so I work them afterwards so I can pause, back up, etc. So far the lecturers, especially Pam Smith, have been very engaging.

I especially like the access to the forum. Nine times out of ten, when I've had a question I've been able to find it there. Response time is great, too. I posted a query earlier today and the prof was back to me within an hour or so.

Flashcards and Focus Notes are beginning to come in handy, too.

    BEC: Fall 2016
    AUD: Spring 2016
    REG: Summer 2016
    FAR: RETAKE

I also have platinum. I have been satisfied so far but have had to supplement some of the detail with my college books/the Internet. Overall I like it and it has gotten me through my first two parts (maybe not through REG today ha! But I think that is just user error on my part).

    FAR - 8/17/15 - 82
    AUD - 10/26/15 - 87
    REG - 11/30/15
    BEC - 1/2/16

Used CPAExcel silver exclusively for all parts. Overall I think it worked well for me, but I can see why others think the materials are very dry. Some of the videos can be informative, while other videos are simply reading the slides word for word without much extra input. The silver package is pretty bare bones (no mentoring), but it worked for a good self-learner like myself. And I think it does a good job of focusing on the most important items, and I did like the ‘bite sized' lectures for when I wanted to squeeze some studying into a lunch break.

I liked CPA Excel but FAR is a lot and some parts were insanely boring. I remember the COSO stuff being like I cant stand this let me watch the video and he just read off a slide in a monotone voice. Terrible. But it is definitely complete my lowest score was a 90.

I used Wiley Gold and supplemented with Ninja. I actually watched whatever lectures Roger had on YT, because he is a great teacher.

If I did it all over again I would get Roger and supplement with Ninja.

I'm not sure which package I got, but I have the online access, offline access, the study guides, the focus notes, the flash cards, and the test banks.

I really enjoy that each lesson is somewhat short. So you don't sit and watch long videos and lose focus. I love the test banks.

I made a 73 the first time I took REG – honestly if had slept the night before, or if my car hadn't broken down I probably would have passed only using Wiley. Before I retook the exam I bought the Roger Cram Course and used that. I raised my score to an 81! I got pretty annoyed with Roger by the end of that course, but he is a lot more interesting then the Wiley lectures.

I took auditing last week and used Wiley and watched Rogers YT videos. I felt very well prepared, but I'll see for sure December 9th.

I just started studying for BEC with Wiley. The professor in the first few videos is pretty dry so far.

Overall I really like this course. But I think supplementing with other courses has a good benefit of helping you see things in a different light.

    REG -73 (8/2015) 81 (10/2015)
    AUD - 73 (11/2015) 84 (1/2016)
    BEC - 84 (2/2016)
    FAR - 77 (6/2016)

@Birmingham- Did you supplement Wiley with anything else?

@ rmm77 – FAR definitely took me the longest to study. I went through the material first slowly, taking notes and making sure I understood the concepts, but not worrying yet about memorizing items, formulas, etc. Then I did another pass thru the material faster with a greater focus on memorization and just practicing the MCQs. Then for all tests I make sure I read/skim through all my notes in full again within a day or two of the exam so everything is fresh and ‘crammed' for test day

@ Jasleen Not really. A couple of times I worked a few sets of the cpareviewforfree questions as a bit of extra practice but the built in questions in CPAExcel were good enough for me. I honestly would've felt better if I bought some sort of supplement test bank but I ended up never going that route

I also don't want to go this test bank route,,specially with wiley..I think the review course itself should be enough, Hopefully, ninja mcqs can come handy in future.

I just got the basic test bank. Used Becker books to supplement my understanding of concepts. That's all I did. Didn't read. Didn't take notes. Didn't waste time listening to people read from the book and call it a “lecture” and making pretty highlights so it looked like I worked hard, but really, you are just coloring and not remember a damn thing.

Working questions to no end and understanding why you missed them is a way more valuable and efficient way to spend your time.
