I just got my final score today and I cannot wait to get this process over with so i want to take the ethics exam and submit my application for license on Monday. I tried searching about some info on ethics exam but it seems that the exam format changed?…. I do have some questions i hope someone who has taken the test recently could answer. Please help me fellow ninjas 🙂

    1. Is it timed?

    2. How many questions are there?

    3. I read somewhere that i could print the actual exam and answer it and just plug in my answer when i take the test.. Where can i find this printable exam?

    4. How many attempts would i have?

    5. Can I save and continue the exam later?

    6. While taking the exam can i open other links for source?

    7. If i get multiple attempts, do the questions change? If not, do they tell you what you got right or wrong?

Oh and I bought the on-demand version.

    thank you so much!!!

Hi acey_lady. I answered most of your questions below. The ethics exam is a little time consuming, but the exam is not bad. You get as many tries as you need and can refer back to the material if necessary.

    1. No. Test and training are not timed.

    2. 45 questions (41 to pass).

    3. I did not print the exam. I don't know if you can do so with the on-demand version.

    4. As many as you need.

    5. I'm not sure – I completed it in one sitting. I did, however, save my answers to an excel sheet just in case.

    6. Yes.

    7. No – you have the same questions. The test does not indicate which questions you have answered incorrectly, it will just show you your overall score. I marked down the answers I wasn't sure of and revisited those when I finished the exam (scored 87 the first time).

Each state is different, in California the Ethics exam is 50 questions and are allowed to miss 5 for a 90% minimum pass rate. You're allowed to take the exam 3 times before having to pay another $150. California recently ‘updated' the Ethics exam and the questions are no longer the same for the retakes; as I understand it, the questions are different for each of the first 3 retakes, so I guess on the 4th attempt they begin to repeat.

The exam is not timed, however there is no ‘printable' version, although I did copy and paste the entire exam into a word document, just in case anything happened. California does not allow you to save and exit, although I did start the exam one day and finish it the next, I just put my computer into sleep mode with the website up and running and it was still there when I ‘woke' it up the next morning, and I was able to complete and submit. I know I took a chance on that, but I used to do that with the Becker software and it was okay.

I received a 90% the first attempt and they did not tell me which ones I got wrong, although I would have been interested in knowing as I spent a ton of time researching each question, which is why it took me so long (about 8-10 hours) to complete. I was able to open multiple tabs to research. Good luck
