I am in big 4 advisory and I have been here since last July. I am basically a controls tester but I am more interested in doing financial analyst kind of work when I leave. I tried to transition into audit but that didn’t work. I currently hate my job, I am not a good fit for public accounting in general (crazy managers, budgets, travel, etc). I just wanted to know if it’s worth it to stick it out to the 2 year mark before making the switch to industry. I am just putting up with work because people have told me to suck it up, but I don’t know if I could hold on for long.

Reach out to a recruiter and see what's out there? If nothing sticks out to you, then maybe hold off for more experience?

I left public before a year mark. It was a tough decision, but I was miserable. I really like my job now and can get a CPA in my state without the experience.
