    Hi everyone,

I have taken REG, score 35 and BEC, score 51. I have failed in both the exam. Now I am feeling demotivated and don’t know what should be the next step. Please suggest me what should I do –

    1. Prepare for REG and BEC again and retake these exam? or

    2. Prepare for FAR and AUD and take these and after passing these two then retake the exam?

Also please suggest me the way I can study better so that I can clear the exam. I am using Becker review course.

    Please reply.

    Thanks!

What materials are you using? And how are you studying?

Your scores suggest you need to focus on one exam. Start where you're strong and get a pass, then move onto the next. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

I'd try whatever exam you think will be the “easiest” for you to see if you can get a pass and get your confidence up. Once you pass one, then you'll know you have a shot at the rest.

Based on your scores I would go through the Becker book slowly and honestly assess whether or not you understand what is going on with each topic. After you get through the book then start with a MCQ bank.

If you can average at least 65% on your MCQ sessions (say a group of 30) after 1500 total questions then you'll have a chance at passing an exam.

I'd study at least 6 weeks for whatever test you pick next.

    BEC - 78
    AUD - 75
    REG - 74, 79
    FAR - 75

Thank everyone for the reply. Your suggestions will make me to evaluate my weakness and also to think different ways to study and focus.

I am using Becker CPA review course ( live classes and self study). The way I am studying is-

I see one part lecture at a time, study from book and do the MCQ, then I move to another part. But my score in all MCQs are in between 65%-70%.

The dates when I have taken the exam –

    REG – 35 – 07/18/14.

    BEC – 51 – 11/23/14.

Should I use some another way to study. Should I take BEC first again.

I would focus on what ever would be easiest for your, like others have mentioned. My first exam was FAR and I failed with a 70. All the advice I got was to retake it right away because I was so close, but I went with my gut. I took AUD and BEC and passed them back to back in the same window. It has been an extreme confidence boost. It also taught me how I really need to study. When I retake FAR, it will not scare me and I will be prepared. Everything in life is all about the PREPARATION.

Go through the material twice! All of it two times. I went through FAR once and even skipped 3 chapters. That was stupid. I went through AUD and BEC twice and passed and I'm also using Becker. For what it's worth, I think AUD is the easiest section but you still have to go through it twice. Don't worry about your homework scores your first go around. On you second round, don't use the book. It will help train you for exam day.

If I've learned anything, you hold the key to your own success and ALWAYS trust yourself first. Go with your gut. My two cents. GOOD LUCK!

    FAR - 70, 81
    AUD - 83
    BEC - 77
    REG - 70, 78
