FAR – Advice Needed

I need some advice: I started studying for the FAR section in April, and it was going well.. and then I had a death in my family. it was a full two weeks of no studying at all. I now need to redo that portion as well. The problem is the last day that I can take the exam is on 7th of July, and I am scheduled to take it then. But I am not sure if I can finish everything by then. Should i just cancel the exam, or give it my best and see how things go? I am really confused. As i might be able to finish the review materials, but not sure if I can do all the practice MCQ and Sims.

I am using Roger for review. Also, I have Roger CRAM and that expires June 14th. Is there a way I can extend?

Sorry about your loss. I also plan to take FAR in early July. Given the circumstances, I think it is completely understandable if you wish to cancel your exam. However, if July 7 is the last day you can take it, then I see nothing to lose other than giving it your best shot. Hope that helps.

realistically this is what i can do…. Mon – Thurs – 1hr – during lunch and 2.5-3 hrs in the evening

Friday – off and then Sat and Sun – 6 – 8 hrs as needed.

will that be enough if i start from today?

Probably. It is different for different people. I am planning on doing something similar, around 2-3 hirs in the evening Monday-Friday, and as much as I can on Saturday and Sunday (I am trying to get some studying in during lunch but not sure how well that is working out).

I really want to finish the WTB after I am done with the Roger MCQS. I think that is the part I will not be able to finish. But lets see. I have been on and off the CPA thing for so long that I really want to get it over with, and every time i plan, life just happens. thanks a lot for your support 🙂

You're welcome. And good luck. Understandbly, this is a difficult process. Everyone will encounter obstacles throughout their CPA exam journey. Just keep in mind the quote, “Most guys (and girls) wait for the perfect time. There is no perfect time. You go and make it happen.”

I would say go for it. That's just short of 2 months left to study.

Do you already have additional materials besides Roger? When your Roger expires mid June, what about adding a ltitle supplemental stuff to your study materials, like Wiley MCQs and/or Ninja notes?

Also, you can take advantage of the July 4th weekend, hopefully you may get an additional day off work (7/4), and just use it + Saturday and Sunday to get a great review in. Best of luck to you!!

    REG - 65, 70, 80!
    BEC - 35, 62, 79!
    AUD - 73, 75!
    FAR - 65, 73, 70, 75! DONE.

Well my Roger course is good to go for another 14 months, its just the CRAM that expires. I am using Roger full course, WTB, Roger Cram and the Ninja Flash Cards.
