FAR in a week- freaking out!

as the title states, I’m really nervous for the FAR exam! This isn’t my first rodeo with the CPA exam, but financial accounting has always been tough for me, so this exam feels even more intimidating. I’m using Becker and Ninja Mcqs, but the information is just so vast. I can’t imagine getting half of this stuff down in time. With Becker, I completed all the lectures and homework, and most of the sims (at least one time through), and now begins the review.

Any tips for reviewing (key areas to focus on)/ calming the nerves?

Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

I would attribute my recent 72 on FAR to my lack of focus on IFRS (though you could get 0 questions on it, nice to have a few flashcards on various topics). Don't freak out. Even though you say this isn't your first rodeo, the worst thing you can do is get worked up. I took these exams back in 2011/2012, couldn't pass one (I sat 5 times). When I picked them up again and went to sit for BEC this time 'round, I was so jacked up. I got a 74. I knew it was because I was so worked up.

Anyways – govt, NFP, IFRS. Start there and brush up around the edges. You can do it. My retake is in 2 week. Here is to both of us putting FAR behind us.

    BEC - 74, 77 (Becker only)

    FAR - 72, 71, 78 (Becker+NINJA)

    REG - 69, 59, 69, 72, 76 (Becker+a private tutor+NINJA+Gleim free trial+seriously anything else I could review)

    AUD - 77 (Becker only)

    CA candidate

    BEC - 74, 77
    FAR - 72, 71 (retake 7/29)
    REG - 69
    AUD - Q4 '16

    CA Candidate

Breathe….. The amount of stress at the Prometric center this past Saturday was quite amusing. I was pretty nervous too that I almost wrote down the wrong name. Don't be nervous. At the end of the day, it's just an exam. I felt prepared bc I did as much as I could but I was still nervous. Don't let the anxiety slow you down. Every minute counts.

Keep doing MCQs. Within the last 2 weeks alone, I did like 800 MCQs all from WTB and my trending was 70-80 so I felt okay. Keep doing SIMs too! Honestly, the best way to study is continue your exposure to the questions and knowing how to solve them. Review journal entries bc you are going to get an SIM on it.

    AUD - 83
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 83
    REG - 78
    BEC - 80 (Roger + NINJA MCQ + WTB)

    FAR - 72; 83 (Roger + NINJA MCQ)

    AUD - 83 (Roger + NINJA MCQ + WTB)

    REG - 52; 78 (Roger + NINJA MCQ)

    Ethics - 68, 96 (how I dislike you)

Thank you both for the advice! FAR was rough, no idea how I did, but can't do anything now but sit and wait for the score!

Best of luck to you on FAR, @CPA788

I just got out of Prometric Center for FAR exam..

I was really under prepared for Governmental and some other issues, including consoldiation.
But the main issue now was the TBS!

I thought the DRS (Document Review Simulation) was going to be tested starting June 2016, I got TWO DRS now!!!!!

How is that possible? and if one of them was pretested, what about the other???!!!

If they weren't pretested (non scored) I guess I'm failing this exam, cuz I left both of them blank!

    BEC 88 (Taken Nov 23, 2015)
    REG 87 (Taken Jan 13, 2016)
    FAR ?? (Taken Apr 18, 2016)
    AUD -- (Sched May 30, 2016)

I took FAR yesterday too- not sure how I did. But I filled in everything. Rather have a wrong due to trying versus leaving blank. May 5th can't come fast enough.

Took BEC once; passed on 7/13/2015
Took REG once; passed on 10/19/2015
Took FAR twice; passed on 9/6/2016
Took AUD four times; finally passed on 7/11/2016 =)

    NEVER GIVE UP!!!

    BEC - 80 (07/2015)
    AUD - 74 (8/2015), 67 (11/2015), 74 (6/2016), 76 FINALLY (7/2016)
    REG - 84 (10/2015)
    FAR - 71 (4/2016), pending 9/2016
