so.. my FAR NTS is expiring in 4 weeks, but haven’t been able to start studying yet. I have a full time job as an auditor, so i can only get about 3 – 4 hours a day with becker. Should I just let it expire and take my time or cram for 4 weeks and take it??

You've already paid for the exam … it's worth a shot at just taking it and getting familiar with it rather than just flushing that $$ down the drain. 4 weeks with a FT job is almost impossible … unless you don't sleep.

    Licensed Florida CPA:
    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.

Hit the test bank (get a couple of different ones if you have to) over and over and over and over…. That's pretty much all I did in my spare time for a week and a half when I was in your situation and I pulled a 72…. Worth a shot at least!

It's doable. My buddy skipped the last few chapters of Becker and passed with a score somewhere between 75-80

    FAR- 92 (7/25/2014)
    AUD- 93 (8/30/2014)
    REG- 93 (10/10/2014)
    BEC- 91 (11/10/2014)

Using Becker self-study only. Working full-time.

Essentially like Gatorbates said, why wouldn't you take it?

    FAR- 90
    AUD- 95
    REG- 10/12 (tentative)
    BEC- November TBD

    Take it.

If you study hard & get lucky, you'll pass. If you study hard, and are smart, but DON'T get lucky, you'll also pass.

I am doing a 5 weeks with a full time auditing job. Focusing on MCQ and then looking up info in book when needed. Passed BEC and AUD with under 50 hours studying each like this.

    It can be done.

    Bec-76 (7/14)
    Aud-81 (8/14)
    Reg-82 (7/15)
    Far- 82 (10/15)

Moral of the story, don't do your CPA while working in Big 4 Public Accounting.

Thanks everyone for the reply. I was thinking about not taking it because i can just either take my time with it or study for other section..

I was once in full on panic mode about FAR as well. One of the A71 ninjas pointed out that not taking it is the same as failing it. I ended up also studying my ass off as much as I could and squeaked by with a 78.

Was I 100% walking into Prometric on the last day of the window? Heck no. I also had the luxury of rescheduling for Q4 but decided against it because of fall recruiting. Take it Miss Jess. 🙂 You literally have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I would recommend Ninja MCQ's! Less than 50 bucks and every question has an explanation for why its wrong/right.

    FAR - 78
    AUD - 85
BEC - 70, 83! Ninja note bump of 13 points!
    REG - 65, 70, 2016 Q1 retake before FAR expires 02/29/16

CPAexcel + Ninja Notes + Ninja MCQ = Success

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. And boy, I am HANGRY!

    @jess3

Take it, and you may or may not pass. Don't take it, and you definitely will not pass. You already paid for the NTS so I say give it a try.

    @HowLuckyWeAre

I hope I will be as fortunate as you in my upcoming FAR attempt.
