I just got my Gleam review materials a couple weeks ago. So far it seems alright, but I am curious how some people have used it. First, I am a couple of years removed from college, and therefore, haven’t had an accounting class in a few years. I’ve felt like when I’m doing some of the MC test that some of the questions have information that wasn’t covered in the book. Is this common, or should I be finding other sources for studying to brush up on some of the concepts that I don’t remember on my own.

Also, when taking the MC question test and simulations, do you use your book while taking them or try and do them with what you remember? At first, I was taking the test without the book and not getting the greatest scores (some better than others). I started having my book by my side while taking the MC test as a reference, its helped my scores and helped reinforce some concepts, but I’m worried that this will be too much of crutch since I will not have access to my book during the actual exam. I’m just curious how other people have gone about this? My thinking is that eventually I will wean my self off the book as a do more practice questions to hopefully get to the point where I can answer question without it. Has anyone taken this approach?

What other materials have people used with Gleim? I’ve been looking into the Ninja notes to help, but don’t want too much information to sift through and don’t want to keep spending money on materials that might not be that beneficial.

Last thing, most of the complaints I have heard about Gleam in the past is that it doesn’t help narrow down topics that are most likely to be found in the exam. Does anyone know of a good source that can help identify these?

    Thanks!
