I'm about to hit F2 SIMs – the MCQ were much easier to stomach the 2nd time around. I don't know why I gave up so easily last time :-/

I'm shooting for FAR in April too. Sometimes it feels like this this journey is way too long before it even starts.

Hi All. Starting with FAR here too for an anticipated April exam.Been out of grad school for four years already. Using CPA Excel. This stuff is so hard on the first go round, but I guess that's called learning. I can't let mcq failures affect my attitude toward the whole thing. I'm figuring out how to hone in on the difficult concepts until I crack them. And reading the questions carefully gives me a new appreciation for language and being precise as an accountant. I think I'm really learning how to study for the first time in my life. Thanks, Jeff.

    Hey All,

I was waiting for this chat to be started. I am just in the beginning process and am planning to try to take FAR April 14th. I will start studying on Tuesday and have budgeted 172 hours of studying within 8 weeks, thanks to Jeff's ELL. There will be some groaning and tons of questions from me but I'm glad we are all in this together.

Q2 window better watch their back because the NINJAS ARE COMING!!!!

    FAR: April or May 2014
    AUD:
    REG:
    BEC:
    Scared: 100

FAR first and only attempt: 2014 Wiley textbook, 10 Pt Combo, and WTB

I only get one try to have to give it my all and try to get 75 on my first go around.

-The only thing that stands between you and what you want out of life is the will to try and the faith to believe it's possible.

I always start posting on here when I start studying, then slack on here, which turns into slacking on studying. I think I need to post consistently to hold myself accountable. I made 70-80s on progress tests in F2, now I'm starting on writing F3 notecards. Wedding venue visits are this weekend so I've got to make it a point to not get behind! That's how it allll starts….

It's snowing again….no need to be outside. I think this bad weather is an indirect opportunity to study without excuses. Everything will be shut down so there is no need to go out, have plenty of books, no internet is not an excuse either……shoot I guess it's get FAR under belt once and for all.

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader.....time to pass

I have been studying for FAR for a little bit now. I am still trying to get through my lectures with Yaeger. I have been having some motivation issues, so I will be checking this thread often to see how everyone is doing to keep up my motivation. Today I scheduled my exam for April 15th, and now my stomach hurts. Lets do this!!

@jen123 – you are the one with 3 kids, right? I think we both lost motivation last time around. I scheduled mine for the 12th. Let's actually hold each other accountable this time!! We don't have time to waste away from our kids to fail/not fully focus. We need to do it right (mainly giving myself a pep talk since I basically wasted 6 months between BEC and FAR failing the 1st times – but hopefully it helps motivate you too! 🙂
