ForeverToThee – There is a summary in F10 at the end. There is actually a lecture that points out the main points. I didn't study this well enough on my first exam. I will know these backwards and forwards for this exam. I hope this helps.

    FAR - JULY 2014 - PASSED
    BEC - MAY 2015 - PASSED
    REG - AUG 2015 - PASSED
    AUD - AUG 31 2015

Right, there's a pretty big synopsis at the end of F10 that Gearty spends some time going over. When I got to that part, I was surprised that I remembered more than I thought.

    FAR: May 1st, 2014 - 91
    AUD: May 29th, 2014 - 97!
    BEC: July 16th, 2014 - 91
    REG: August 29th, 2014 - 88

    FAR - 46, 79 (7/8/14)
    AUD - 56, 59, 2/23/15 3rd times a charm!
    BEC - 69, 74 Really??
REG - April, I hope. Fingers crossed!

Awesome. I think what I will end up doing is just reviewing over the GAAP/IFRS differences and J/E's for the main components of the chapters so hopefully when I get to F10 it will be a little easier and I'll be ready for the sims.

    BEC- 92 (5/29)
    FAR- 85 (7/3)
    REG- (8/8)
    AUD- (8/22)

Forevertothee. I just noticed your tentative schedule for exams. You are studying for FAR in 4 weeks as well as REG. Then just a few weeks for AUD. How are you being able to cover all the material?

    FAR - JULY 2014 - PASSED
    BEC - MAY 2015 - PASSED
    REG - AUG 2015 - PASSED
    AUD - AUG 31 2015

Does anyone know what the deal is with filling in 0s on the sims? Particularly for journal entry questions…for example if the format is to select the proper entry from a drop down menu, and then there are two empty boxes to type the appropriate amount into, would filling in a 0 for the right side column of a debit (and vice versa for credits) be proper? And then putting in 0s for both sides in unused areas lower down?

@Doc_shades–I didn't put zeros in the other side of the JEs if I had a number in the debit or credit column, but it I have read several times that if you run out of time on the SIMS, don't leave them blank. Put zeros to help yourself in case one of the answers really is zero.

CPA Exam - Finally DONE (November 2014)
    BEC (08/10/13) 80
    AUD (08/24/13) 65 (11/13/13) 85
    FAR (04/12/14) 81
    REG (07/19/14) 69 (11/29/14) 87!!

@jennibfox, I've been fortunate enough to find myself in a position where I can study for 10-12 hours a day for the next few months. I can get in about 70-80 hrs a week and at 4 weeks in between far and almost 4 for reg I should have well over 200hrs for both.

    BEC- 92 (5/29)
    FAR- 85 (7/3)
    REG- (8/8)
    AUD- (8/22)

hello guys! never thought I would be joining the Q3 FAR study group but the AICPA thought otherwise and here I am. I got a 62 on my first try on 5/22. Hoping to make it this quarter. I think I made a mistake of focusing more on the book and lectures rather than doing the actual MCQs and SIMS itself. This time my strategy is to go over all Becker MCQs and SIMS then move on to NINJA MCQs and SIMS until exam day. On my last attempt I didn't take the Becker practice tests as I was short on time and thought it would break my confidence before exam. This time I will make sure I attempt it at least two weeks before exam day so I can gauge my performance and work on my weak areas.

Today i've started with becker F1 MCQs and feeling good. I will not be surprised if this shows as comparable on my exam report. So guys let's do this and kill this beast. I can't wait to be done with this and move on to reg. Also I would suggest you guys to just take a look at the Q2 FAR study group to get an idea on how to make this whole study group thing effective and beneficial for all of us. We've got some pretty bis shoes to fill so let's show them what we've got. Here's to another great study group. Good luck y'all and happy study šŸ™‚

This exam was easier up until 2011 when MC was worth 70% , simulations were only 20% and then you had to write a memo for 10%. The changed to mc 60 and simulations 40 % makes it a lot harder. This is my reasoning as to why I passed FAR and REG with 80% by only studying 3 months for each part. The only way to pass this exam now is to do a lot of simulations as well as mc. The simulations will force to do JEs to answer some questions and I think that will do the trick. To those of you who got from 70 to 74 on the actual exam, what were you getting on the cumulative progress test? I did about 1500 mc questions covering all the chapters and my average was 83%.

Goodluck to y'all in the Q3 group, I think I have forgotten a lot whithin these few days but im hoping to contribute a lil bit.

I will be rooting for y'all, but seriously zubairs….I wish I can swap my FAR with your BEC.

BEC has been my worst enemy because of the written portion.gaaah
