As I am waiting for my AUD score, I am trying to decide what to use for FAR. For REG, I used Becker book right before my Becker expired. I supplemented that with NINJA & WTB. For BEC, I only used NINJA and WTB.

For AUD, I purchased the Wiley textbook, however, it was much to detailed and intimidating. Therefore, I didn’t use it. Only used NINJA and WTB again.

However, for FAR, I am pretty confident I will need a more in depth review in order to pass. I could renew becker for this section only for around $200. However, I would like some advice from fellow CPA candidates as to what they used for FAR and why they would recommend it. Suggestions and thoughts please?

Good question. I have Wiley books, WTB, and NINJA materials. Since FAR is such a beast, I'm considering getting Roger's cram program for it also. It's $225.

If you only have to pay $200, I think it's worth it…Do you also have access to a test bank with your Becker upgrade? If not, the WTB is great because the MCQs questions are very similar to the exam.

Also review the AICPA release questions for several years with the Becker explanations…

I've never used Becker, so I can't say, but FAR was the first section I took and I passed (barely) on the first try using Yaeger videos that incorporate the Wiley textbook and software. It's been a while since I've had to look into it, but when I bought my materials Yaeger was significantly less expensive than Becker. Employer didn't reimburse any of the costs so I was paying out of pocket and went the less expensive route, but it's turned out ok so far!

I only used Becker and I felt it over prepared me. Information is information so whichever study material you use, be sure to know it front and back. That's my best advice.

Thank you both! Becker would only cost around 200 because of the “Pass Guarentee” deal. So I only have to pay for materials and yes, it would come with the becker testbank. I also have WTB & all NINJA for FAR. If I pass AUD and only have FAR remaining, feeling more like forking up the 200 just to have access to all their MCQ's & SIM's as well as WTB questions.

@LongShot – I have heard good things about Yaeger, especially the price difference! As accountants, we are always looking to save money ha. That makes it really hard when employer doesnt reimburse. My employer will reimburse $750 of all expenses before you pass, and then another $750 after you pass. That is their little incentive ha.

If you're doing the Becker pass guarantee, make sure you can jump through their hoops. I don't know much about it, but I've read things….

@Kimboroni – Yes, I find out my AUD score tomorrow hopefully. We will see what happens! What is the worst that can happen….

Somehow, I was able to jump through Becker's hoops. It is not an easy thing to do. You have to watch all videos in full and complete 90% of MC questions. They were really good about it. ON a better note: I just checked my becker online, and somehow all of the FAR materials show up and are updated. SO I just I don't have to worry about the above questions or the $200. MY LUCKY DAY!

Hopefully tomorrow is much luckier, as in a 75!
