    Not sue if anyone tried the AICPA released AUD questions. Feel destroyed by those questions. Only got 80 % on moderate and 68% on Difficult ones. I thought I am pretty well prepared, now I am seeing failure, and it is only three days left!

    Need suggestions from Ninjas.

    kukuna2008, I dont really know how it works,but if you get Moderate questions on your first testlet, and then you get an 80% that means that your next testlet will be hard, and then you get a 65% on that one ,so you come back to moderate. Assuming you get another 80% on the third testlet your score will be=

    20X80=16

    20X65=13

    20X80=16

    So out of the possible 60 points, you get 45, which is a 45/60=75%. Lets say on the simulations you get 70%X40=28. Your 45 points from the MC plus 28 from the simulations is 73, and the with a curve they say they dont give, you will close to 80%.

    Hi Martin, Thank you soooo much for the information! you helped me build back up some confidence, however I still question myself quite a bit. I guess the only thing I can do is to keep practicing until the last minute before test.

    This is how I guess how hard and moderate score.

    Feel free to comment.

    Assuming hard questions score more “points”

    For MCQ

    So if M, M, M then the max score will be 40

    if M H M or M M H, then the max score will be 50

    if M H H, then the max score will be 60

    Based on the above calculation

    Moderate testlet will be worth around 13 -14 points

    Hard testlet worth around 23 points

    I dont think they will penalyze you as bad if you get a 90% pn a moderate, and 70% on difficult, and another 90% on moderate.I think it will look more like the following without a curve.

    M-30X90=27

    H-30X70=21

    M-30X90=27

    75X60=45

    On your scenario, you only get 66%X60=40. If that were the case, you will never get comparable on your score report when it comes to MC. Almost 90% of students who get between 70 to 74 score comparable on the MC part of the exam. According to the report, you are consider comparable if you score between 75 to 80 on the MC part of the exam.

    Very hard to apply %ages to this, actually its not a good idea. From what I understand its more like this.

    Q1=.5 points

    Q2= 1 point

    Q3=.5 points

    Q4= 2 points

    In the example above, as a real quick and dirty example, the entire testlet is worth a total of 4 points. However getting 75% of the questions correct, if that 75% HAPPENED to be Questions 1-3 would yield the same score (2 points) as if you got 25% of the questions correct, so long as that 25% HAPPENED to be question 4. Or 75% of the questions could yield a score of 3.5.

    So I'd toss any notion of % of questions answered correctly because you have no idea how each question is weighted. One would assume in the scenario above that Q4 is considered the most difficult of the 4 questions but what if you happen to be very proficient in that topic,it won't be the hardest for YOU, in fact you may consider Q4 to be the easiest and Q1 to be a bear.

    Supposedly testlets one and three are always medium, only 2 can be “hard” which presumably means you need to get less questions correct to achieve the max points because the value assigned to a hard question would be higher than the value assigned to a medium question.

    I say ignore what % of questions you got right and try to identify your weak vs. strong topics to study more efficiently

    No testlet 1 is always medium and then testlets 2 and three are either hard or medium based on your performance on the one directly prior. Getting harder testlets usually means you will score more points because the hard questions will be weighted heavier. But it is possible to pass with all medium testlets as long as you do well but not very well and then do very well on sims.
