I just took FAR on Monday. I didn’t realize how awful this was going to be waiting a month for my score. This was my first exam and am wondering if anyone can relate to my experience and if they’ve passed or not. First off I have been out of school a couple years now. I am glad I waited until I was ready and fully motivated. I put in about 200 hours of studying using the 10 point combo. I read the book, listened to the audio on my commute and attempted about 2,500 questions in the mcq. My trending score was an 80 and averaged 68.

I am concerned because I felt really confident going into the test. However, my first testlet really was shockingly hard. I don’t know that I did terrible on it I was just surprised because i was expecting the first one to be easy. I started panicking when I finished with question 30 because I had already used 45 minutes so I decided not to go back to the 5 or 6 I had flagged fearing the test was only going to get harder. Then my next two testlets were extremely easy. I am trying to convince myself that the third testlet was harder and I just did good on it. But I flew thru these two and ended up with just under two hours left going into the break before the sims. I was then shocked once again by how simple and easy the sims were. The research actually took me a while but I am pretty sure I got it I found basically exactly what it was asking for there was just a lot of paragraphs talking about similar things. I know I got 100% on one other one and then did well on at least 2-3 more and pretty well on the rest to where I wasn’t sure exactly what they wanted but I know I picked up some points. I am a little worried that I forgot to fill in all the zeroes in one but I think that may be the pretest.

The other thing that annoys me is I finished with 20 minutes left to the point where I looked over every sim and made sure I had my best answers and then decided i was pretty burnt out and there was nothing else I could do. This is frustrating since I could have taken more time on the first testlet to get my best answers on the ones I flagged.

So anyways, on to studying for audit on 11/30. But I am wondering if anyone had a similar experience where they probably got three medium testlets and still passed either by doing really well on testlets two and three or on the sims. I have to think I have atleast a 50-50 shot considering people pass without even finishing sims. I know I did good on the second testlet so I would think I got a hard third one then but I am not sure. Thanks.
