I have heard that you should read the question and try to answer the question for approximately 30 seconds before deciding to flag it and come back. Anyone have any luck with this technique, or have a better suggestion for time management of FAR MCQs?

I’m re-taking FAR 5/28 and am terrified I’ll have issues with time management. I spent only 2.75 hours on one try and got a 71…then on the retake the full 4 hours and got a 71 again. So frustrating!

    AUD - 84
    BEC - 84
    FAR - 77
    REG - 75
    So glad to be done!

I've never heard that you should flag it without answering it and come back. I've always been told if you have literally no idea or are down to two out of four choices, your take you best guess- flag it and come back if you have time! Also really do allocate your time wisely. 45 minutes no matter what for each MCQ section and the remainder for SIMs. When you get to the test write it down on your paper when you need to be done with each section and stick to it! I.E.- 4 hrs- 315- 230-145-0. This helped me to manage my time. I just imagined I was going to run out of time at each of those points I wrote down and HAD to be done with each section by then. Make sure you re-study EVERYTHING not just the things you're struggling with! Keep practicing those multiple choice questions and SIMs! Know your j/e's and if you can- seriously get the ninja notes! That's how I passed FAR (added them on my third attempt) and rocked AUD (added them on my second attempt and got a 93.) Good luck!

    FAR: PASSED!! 64, 68, 79 on 2/27/13!
    AUD: PASSED!! 73, 93 on 4/5/13!!!
BEC: PASSED!! 75 (phew) on 5/24/13!
REG: PASSED!!! 77 on 8/7/13 I AM DONE!!!!!

    Experience: got it!
Ethics Exam: PASSED on first try (what a waste of money)

I agree with ORcpaHOPEFUL…I never leave a question unanswered, flag or no flag. I only use the flag as a reminder “hey I may want to double check this cuz I wasn't 100% sure”
