for those who study in the morning before work, how do you manage that? when do you always get up and start to study?

I am trying to switch around my review routine since it is so hard to concentrate after working for 10 hours.

    THANKS!!!!!

I did mornings most of the time, I don't need to be into the office until 8, so I got up at 5:30, made coffee, and studied until a kid got up which would be between 6:30-7:00. Get him his banana, change a diaper, and change myself and head out the door.

I had the benefit of being able to study ~2 hours at lunch throughout the day, and I would do 30-60 minutes at night during “crunch time” leading into the test.

Early on I used to get up at 4:17 (ask me how I remember the time), and study, it got me through Regulation, and it was awful. I would fall asleep at work almost every day, and things weren't any easier in the evenings.

    REG- (1) 76
    FAR- (2) 64, (5)74, (7)83 (Over achiever!)
    AUD- (3) 70, (4) 75
    BEC- (6) 75

I set my alarm for 4:45 am, get out of bed, bathroom, heat water for tea, try to wake up by the time I sit down to start studying which is from 5-7am with no interruptions. Not going to lie, my eyes are still glossy and sensitive to the light which doesn't clear until 5:15 or so. The hardest is waking up in the morning, I try to make myself jump out of bed right when that alarm goes off , if not ill probably just go back to sleep (which hasn't happened because I make myself jump out of bed)

The hardest is the first couple weeks, it took me forever to adjust. When I first started this routine I would go to sleep at 8:30 pm because I couldn't stay awake but now I can go to bed 930-10pm and still wake up to study in the morning.

I work all day and come home to a husband and two kids, this is my only option I have if I want to study during the week.

    Hope this helps 🙂

I've been getting up at 5 lately. When It's real crunch time I sleep less. I just wake up and can't sleep any more so I'll get up at 2 -3 sometimes and study. Of course then I pass out putting my kids to bed at 8:30.

I studied 1 hour before work, 2 hours at night for 4-5 days out of the week (around thanksgiving I started taking days off). I would then study for 3 hours on Saturdays and take Sunday off. This was my strategy for FAR and REG, I kind of got off schedule for BEC (NBA playoffs, video games, social events), but it worked out. I woke up at 6 every morning and studied til 7, at night I would study 8-10. You kind of just have to will yourself to study, and I had no choice because I had Wiley, which is extremely dense! You should be fine.

It's so hard to study before work…but I really try. Sometimes I get to work at 7 and study until 8 but since I'm at a client now it's hard to do this and I don't. Usually when I'm doing my hair or putting on my make up I play my Roger CPA review course so I just listen to it while getting ready. It helps but I'm not 100% focused so that kind of sucks. I need to start waking up at 4 am or something because I work 11 hour days and it's rough to focus as well.

I usually get up at 4am to study, even on weekends since I start work at 7am so it gives me at least 2 solid hours to study. I tried to study at night but it wasn't working out since I was so tired and found excuses not to study and I also have a toddler so it made it even harder. The trick is to wake up every day (even weekends) at the same time and try to go to sleep at the same time…try for 6.5 to 7 hours of sleep. Your body will be in shock the first week but after that it will get used to it. I did notice that I actually sleep better at night because I am soooo tired by the time 9pm rolls around.

Wow, you guys are crazy! While I wake up at 730 every morning and am rushing out the door, my brain isn't awake til 10am. I studied at work a lot then for 3-6 hours at night. I did get burnt out all the time but had to continue on and on…

If you are looking for a little motivation in addition to changing your study habits, make copies of those passing scores and post them anywhere and everywhere that you can. Bathroom mirror, cubicle at work, washing machine, etc.

I was on my last attempt at FAR(before possibly losing my AUD credit) and MADE myself get up extremely early. I was sitting at my computer with a cup of coffee no later than 5:00 a.m. I would study until 7:00. While I was getting ready, I would have some sort of audio I could listen to. I recorded my Becker Flash cards on a voice recorder and would listen to them while getting ready and on the way to work. Once at work, I would listen to the NINJA FAR audio ALL DAY. Once I got home at night, I would hit the books again. This went on NON STOP from November of 2012 until I took my test in January of 2013. There are ways to get in extra study time, not just in front of a computer.

I was within three days of losing my AUD score. I passed FAR with a perfect 75. What I described above is what it took for me.

Good luck and hope this helps!!

P.S. To this day, I still have my final scores printed out and taped to my cubicle wall. Sometimes I still stare at them.
