Got my license #

    I got my license # for KY in the mail yesterday. Am I officially a CPA now? I’m not showing up in the license verification system, but I’m wondering if it just takes them a few days to update it. I know KY has an oath, there’s a fall banquet next Friday where I’ll actually get a certificate, take the oath, have some cocktails, etc., but I’m wondering if I can change my email signature at work? 🙂 lol, I don’t have an ounce of patience left after waiting for my last exam score from July 1st (took AUD) until Sept 20th when I got my score!

    Good question… I'm in the same boat…. Got my license #, but when can I change my email signature? 🙂

    I wont be able to get my license until I complete the work experience requirement, but my firm doesn't allow us to put CPA designations on our business cards or e-mail signatures 🙁 It was all for naught!

    @ asleephere – I assume you got licensed in MN, does your initial certificate say “expires 12/31/11”? I will be calling the board to verify, but according to the website we have to renew before year end. Good thing is that we are waived from doing the CPE until next year, but it is weird that we already have to renew.

    I am GREEN with envy but I think that as long as you have that # in your hand, you are safe to call yourself a CPA. Congratulations!

    You have a license so I believe that's a CPA license. LOL. As far as using CPA at work, depends on your employment policy. For example, our company allows for designations; however, you cannot use letters such as MBA. Only for licenses.

    @ Skimpy – yes, it does say expires 12/31/11. Yep, need to renew before the end of the year….

    I just rec'd the letter, i was waiting to get my transcripts in order. now im going to send in my application – tomorrow probably. 4-6 weeks.

    I just got my license card for Ohio and excited about signing my name with those three sought after letters…CPA.

    I've actually been very picky about what gets the first use.

    FAR - 66, 77
    AUD - 63, 76
    BEC - 70, 83
    REG - 72, 79
