    Hey everyone,

    At my internship there is someone who’s taking REG close to my exam date. I know people prefer to study alone when it comes to the CPAl but have anyone implemented an effective group study session? What did you do?

    I know people think group study sessions can be distracting but I’m a firm believer that discussing topics out loud will help people understand the material better.

    I wish I could do that. Currently, four of my friends are starting FAR, I'm a week ahead of them. We all have classes together for the rest of the year. I would love to discuss stuff with them. My roommate and I in undergrad had every class together, we studied simply by talking and we passed every exam with nearly perfect scores. Explaining stuff to people helps you learn as well as listening to a person talking to you about it. I would try it man, I personally haven't for the CPA yet.

    FAR = 86 4/22/16
    BEC = 80 6/01/16
    REG = 07/26/16
    AUD = ?

    What I did in group studies before were 2 things:

    1. have a list of things you were 100% confident in then discuss with your study buddies and talk it out. When talking about it, describe everything you know about it and then get feedback from your buddies where you have it wrong or where you could know it better.
    2. do questions together then discuss your logic for your answers and the study tools you use to know you are right.

    I wouldn't worry about being a week ahead. I would set like a half hour with them to do the things above from stuff you did a week ago. Its good to keep as much material fresh as possible.
