Has anyone ever been rejected from receiving a license?

I passed the exam in February and had previously submitted all of my paperwork to NY. They received everything and went to the CPA Board on March 12. They told me it could take between 8 – 12 weeks.

My question is, has anyone ever been rejected when you met all the requirements? I have the experience, proper education, the CPA who signed by experience is a NY CPA…. everything should be in order… I’m just paranoid they will find some reason to reject me!

Also doesn’t help that I’m leaving my current job next week so if anything is wrong, it will be harder for me to get in contact with my employer.

    BEC - 68, 75 (2/3/14)
    AUD - 75 (11/30/12)
    REG - 73, 75 (10/8/12)
    FAR - 78 (8/31/13)

    DONE!!! Waiting for License!!

Same thing happened to me too OP. The entire turnaround time for my licensure process in Ohio was 72 days, spanning date of application submission (12/9/13) to issuance of permit # (2/18/14).

Ohio issues licenses on the 15th of every month except December, so I knew that it wouldn't happen in that month, however I was very surprised to find out they hadn't received my CPAES file in time to make the mid-January date.

Happened eventually, which is all that matters now. I know what you mean about the paranoia… it wasn't nearly as stressful of a wait compared to waiting to check your score since you know what the outcome will be in this case, but still a bit gut-wrenching. I just want the damn license already!
