Has anyone tried bringing a Dry Eraser into the exam?

Just curious. Last I heard the proctors were still handing out wet tissues to clean the measly 2 laminated sheets that we get to write on during the exam….which sooooooo isn’t going to work for FAR (for me, that is.)

And yes, I won’t be surprised if that’s been banned as well.

You can get new sheets. You just need to exchange your two used sheets for two new ones. It's really not a big deal.

Considering I will need every second of time for this exam, and I know the people at my testing center aren't exactly the fastest people, I would consider it a big deal. I'd rather not break my train of thought to get up and ask these people for more sheets, if dry erasers are allowed.

I'm taking a wild guess that you didn't need all the time required for FAR–since you got a 96…I'm going to be shooting for a 75 (and praying that the CPA gods are with me) : )

Honestly, this may bother you but if you lick your finger you can easily just smug off whatever you had written. I have naturally sweaty palms so I'm always just wiping things off those papers. Although from my experience I didn't even come close to filling up my pages for FAR, or any of the other sections for that matter. I really wouldn't stress too much about it

I can't wear my watch….I am not going to even try to ‘bring' a dry eraser….

I don't think taking anything (out side of the boards, pens, ID and key to locker) in to the exam room is allowed….If you try and succeed i suggest reporting your testing center for a violation.

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

I was never offered to take an eraser with me. I wasn't too thrilled about those laminated pages and I tried to be very careful with how much space I use so I don't have to ask for new ones.

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14

Ok, I get it. Seems like the general consensus is just to suck it up and get over my annoyance with the laminated sheets/marker deal! Thanks.

I actually had one minute left on my clock when I finished FAR. One tip is to write smaller if you can. The key is to maximize your space.

Thanks for the Tip Barely, I am kind of worried about FAR and if those laminated sheets will be enough. I guess writing small is an option.

    FAR 05/27/14; 786/110 - Done !
