I have scheduled my FAR test for July 28th, and I am using Becker primarily along with trying the NINJA method of watchind lectures while taking notes first, then going thru all the MCQs twice, re-writing my notes, and reviewing. I am trying to figure out how to break down my studying but struggling.

I have read 150 study hours as a baseline for FAR, and therefore was planning to do 30 hrs/week for 5 weeks leading up to it. However, I am confused how to count these hours. If I study from 9am-6pm, is that 9 hours regardless of breaks or would you only count the actual amount of time used for studying?

Also, anyone that has used Becker, any tips/strategies for the MCQs, including the order you did them in or how many times to attempt each?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    FAR- 90
    AUD- 95
    REG- 10/12 (tentative)
    BEC- November TBD

150 hours for FAR is a decent baseline. I personally clocked in around 165-170 hours in six weeks with Becker. I counted only hours where I was actively listening to lectures / doing MCQs and SIMs / taking notes. I was pretty consistent about it, too — lectures always took around twice the total lecture time, HW was between 90 seconds to 120 seconds per question, and SIMs were around 45-60 minutes. All in all, I guess that means I spent 13-15 hours per section. Multiply by 10 sections and add a week of review.

I always did the MCQs in order for FAR, but you really don't have to. Once you do F2, you have the framework to do F3-F7 in any order you want. I would recommend saving F8 and F9 towards the end.

Regarding MCQs… I always did the HW questions for a topic after watching the corresponding lecture for that topic. I went through the questions once without looking up anything and marked any question I missed or was unsure about. Then, I went back and re-answered all of those marked questions. I averaged around 80% on my first run through, but as long as you understand why you missed what you did, it's not so important how high your initial score was.

I would also recommend progress tests intermittently because FAR is just so huge and you don't want to, for example, go through F2 and then not touch it for three weeks. You will forget it if you don't keep it fresh in your head.

That's awesome advice!! definitely going to do the same… I just find the lectures so boring and feel like I absorb more when I read it myself
