Took audit twice this year and made 70 both times. Going to reschedule in January 2015. Need some suggestions on how to get over this hump. Using Yaeger videos, Wiley book and testbank, Ninja notes from 2013. The thought of digging back into these books is making me sick. So aggravating.

Hey JPS, how have you been studying? I failed Audit once before and had to start over. I used Becker but what I did for the second time around was skim/read the book, make a study guide(just to help memorize some items) and re-do all the MCQ. I can also send you my study-guide if you would like me to, even though I would suggest making your own or atleast re-typing them.

Add Ninja Audio…I was using CPAexcel the first try and only added audio for the second. Bumped my score up nicely! The audio really helps to solidify some of those tricky concepts.

Mostly reading the chapters and working test bank questions over and over and over and over. Simulations also. For some reason something isn't clicking for me on this test. I was using the Ninja notes as a study guide and filling in the gaps. Took audit in 2012 didn't do well (64) and took break, retook May 2014 and made 70, immediately rescheduled and thought I did well and made another 70. Did worse on sections that I did well on the previous test and did better on sections that I did worse on the previous exam. Scored below average on simulations on both tests.

Do you know how to use the Authoritative Literature for the SIMs? There are many SIMs in Audit that the AL helps immensely.

I haven't used the one on the AICPA site. I will set aside some time to do just that.

@jps22 – I am in the same boat except my score is lower than yours. I studied completely different the second time and did as many SIMS as I could. I thought I understand the material a lot better and only ended up adding 3 points to my score. I did however improve in some sections, which was a relief that I didn't just bomb the exam, but improved. For my next AUD retake in January, I am writing NINJA notes and will probably focus more on SIMS and learning the concepts. I focused more on the SIMS for my FAR retake and passed. The SIMS do relay to the MCQs so I hope if I can understand SIMS I should be able to answer MCQs. I would suggest practicing using the AL. I did find 2 SIMS word or word on my last AUD exam and still didn't pass. 🙁 Good luck to your on your AUD retake! We WILL pass in January!!

    FAR - 46, 79 (7/8/14)

I agree with reading the book. I must have skimmed (and read my trouble areas) through the Becker book at least 4 times and read the ninja notes at least 10 times and then re-wrote the notes. It really helped me! I usually focus on the pass keys in the becker book and make sure I read those. Don't skip anything! When they skip stuff during the lecture and say read on your own, read it on your own. Read thru the appendix if there are any.

The AL for the sims is amazing with audit. I was able to use it for 1 full sim and parts of others.

Audit is a tricky one, just stick at it and you will get it! Good luck!!
