If I have read your posts correctly, you are starting out on your own in the tax prep field. Did you buy-out an existing firm or are you starting from scratch? If starting from scratch, what are your ideas for growing the business?

I am in the 3 year window of starting out on my own, so I am doing my due diligence about the best way to go.

If that is the case, I would like to hear what multiplier was used to determine the price? Seems like most of the tax firms are about 1x the annual gross income…

Ours isn't a tax firm. We do it all. We used the annual billings as a base and went from there.
