    Becker Question –

I feel like I am just highlighting a slew of random rules and exceptions on each and every page and nothing is coming together in S-Corps of R3. I have yet to get to the MCQ’s but I would be surprised to get above a 30% honestly.

Is this normal? I passed FAR with an 80 and that was a walk in the park compared to the foreign language that is S-Corps.

Are you sure you are talking about S corps or C corps? S corps a pretty simple flow through entities: 1 class of common stock, no more than 100 shares domestic entities. Just remeber AAA account and basis rules. I think you are having issues with C corps. You need to master that ons for sure.

Yes C corps, sorry. Is it common to have issues with C corps?

C corps have a lof of shareholder and corporation basis rules. You need to master them all and make sure to distinquish corp rules from partnership.

I felt the same way when I was going through C Corps! Took me a while to finally be comfortable with the information. I wouldn't get discouraged – the becker questions were a lot harder than the exam 🙂

    AUD - 96 (Jan 15)
    REG - 90 (Feb 15)
    FAR - 85 (Apr 15)
    BEC - 82 (May 15)

Ugh, I'm trying to power through R3 and struggling with C Corps too. I imagine, just like with the other sections, the more time you look at it and practice questions the less foreign it'll seem. Getting to that point, though, is the trickiest part.

There are a couple of charts in Becker that were really helpful. It compares S Corp to C Corp to Limited Partnerships. Those charts were SUPER helpful in highlighting the differences. The AICPA likes to give you questions which tests you on the differences.

I suggest you go ahead and try homework MCQs and simulations – then go back to the chapter and a lot of things will become logical
