How long do you take going over a particular MCQ?

I’ve been taking anywhere between 3-15 minutes on ONE particular MCQ-it depends on how well I understand it but I try to get a good grasp of the concept(s) before moving on to the next one.

It takes me about 2-4 hours (generally) to review a practice test of about 20Qs

Yeah, it’s a long process but I feel like it’s more effective than rushing through practice quizzes and not really absorbing the delicious information.

What about you guys? What worked for you?

This was how I started out with REG and then I realized that it was taking me way too long. I had to rush through to cover most of the material. Since then I only review briefly. I only look at the ones I got wrong, and quickly. A lot of times I can tell why I got it wrong, so I move on, such as “oh that said NOT” or because I was between two and knew why I was between those two. If I really don't know I will spend a few minutes reading and understanding it, usually. You have to realize there is just not enough time to do it your way. You will probably be covering over 1000 mc questions. At the low end of what you posted here and only 1000 questions you are looking at 100 hours of just reviewing your multiple choice. My suggestion would be only review thoroughly on ones you got wrong AND don't know why.

I understand where you are coming from @Jimmykim10 because I kind of have the same situation with FAR. This exact thing happened with FAR on the first go around and I would take too long and then as I got closer to the exam date I panicked and rushed through everything. I guess there has to be a happy medium so I like y_u_no_pass' approach. I am noticing that I'm going through MCQs a lot quicker this time around probably less than a minute on concepts I know well and 2-5 minutes on those that I don't. I know you're supposed to get quicker as you approach exam date, though.

For now this is what I'm doing: MCQs by subtopic so the likelihood of the same type of questions coming up are greater in one session. In other words, if you get a question wrong and spend 5 minutes trying to figure out why you got it wrong then the next time you get a similar question you won't spend as long on it because you should remember how to approach it…hope that makes sense. Oh, and I also have an account on the brainscape.com website to make quick flashcards on only those important concepts that I know I need to remember or a fact nugget on a question I got wrong.

    REG - (11/30/15) 55 (05/19/16) 74

I was slow going through MCQ's the first time around, and still slow on many the second time through. I compared my time to other on this forum and thought I was really slow and wouldn't pass. That wasn't the case.

I'd rather understand and be slow than fast and not know anything. Try not to worry about your speed as you are studying. ‘Speed' will come later.
