I am currently studying for FAR and exam date is 4/17. What is the recommended amount of study time for AUD? Curious to see if I would be able to study for that right after FAR and take it at the end of May or wait till next testing window. Currently I am studying 20+ hours a week.

Any advice would be great? Thanks!

    FAR - 46, 79 (7/8/14)
    AUD - 56, 59, 2/23/15 3rd times a charm!
    BEC - 69, 74 Really??
REG - April, I hope. Fingers crossed!

I don't know what the recommended time is, but if you're getting in 20+ hours per week and can study for the 6 weeks from your FAR test to the end of May you should be good to go. FAR is training you well because AUD is tricky, but has less material to cover.

Would it be better to study for BEC then after FAR? I have been going back and forth on which one to study next.

    FAR - 46, 79 (7/8/14)
    AUD - 56, 59, 2/23/15 3rd times a charm!
    BEC - 69, 74 Really??
REG - April, I hope. Fingers crossed!

If you don't have any business education I would do BEC after AUD because there is some overlap from FAR in AUD and then some overlap from AUD in BEC. BEC was my easy one because I have 2 degrees in business. AUD was from another planet, but I can tell you what I did to pass it on the retake. I don't count my first attempt for AUD because I took it two weeks after BEC and hadn't given myself enough one on one time with AUD versus my studying for BEC.

    For the retake

I read the book from front to back and took notes. I incorporated those notes into the Ninja Note outline and rewrote the entire set of notes once. I did Ninja flashcards whenever I had a few minutes. I listened to Ninja Audio on my commute to and from work to the point that I could talk along with Jeff. I answered every MCQ/SIM in the WTB at least twice. I didn't watch any lectures.

For me, AUD was way easier than BEC. It's hard to guage how long to study for an exam because due to individual strengths/weaknesses with the material.

I would study until you are comfortable with it. If it's taking too long, push your exam back.

I would say at least 120 hours. I put in about 160 hours. I think taking AUD after FAR is ideal.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

AUD after FAR is your best bet.

BEC to me felt like playing a lottery.

I double majored in acc/finance and minored in economics. It took me 3 attempts to pass BEC

    FAR - 76*, 73, 85
    BEC - 69, 72, 78*, 80
    AUD - 72, 71, 90
    REG - 71, 74, 85

    AFTER 3 YEARS I'M DONE!!!
