How much time did you leave for SIMS on AUD?

Hoping to get some input on recommended amount of time to give myself to complete the SIMS for the AUD section of the exam.

I generally like to take that time and subtract it from my total allotted time to arrive at the total I have for MCQ then divide that by 3 for each of the 3 MCQ testlets as a way to gauge my timeliness.

    Appreciate it!

Leave atleast 2 hours for Audit Sims that was the key for me to pass the Audit in third attempt.. Try to use every drop of Authoritative Literature…

    Good Luck

I'm interested in hearing some opinions also. I will be taking AUD the first week in August. I find it hard to believe that they will take 2 hours, I've been doing Becker practice sims in about 30 minutes. Maybe I'm missing something

I agree with Nam. 2 hours. It took me that long because I absolutely scoured the AL.

I generally tried to do 30min per testlet and the rest for sims on all exams. That way there is plenty of time to scour the guidance, results: above average on sims for all exams.

I took the exam today and I left 2 hours for sims and it really helped because it took me at least 15 minutes to search the AL for 2 sims. I was able to find the answers for one almost word for word.

Don't rush yourself too much….audit is the least time intensive exam. I'm not saying to not leave X amount of time, but you should be careful not to care so much about making good time that you sacrifice MCQ score, because chances are you can finish the exam without any problem.

I had 2.5 hours left each time whwn I got to sims

First time I did them in 1.5 hrs and scored comparable.

Today I used 2.0 hours and did more AL scouring than the first try but to little avail. I didnt want to dwell on them TOO much (aka use my remaining 30 mins) because I didnt want to start potentially changing correct answers to wrong ones and start doubting myself

    REG - 65, 70, 80!
    BEC - 35, 62, 79!
    AUD - 73, 75!
    FAR - 65, 73, 70, 75! DONE.

Left 2 hours for Sims. Didn't need to use the AL so I finished an hour early.

It depends on the SIMS you get. I had 2 hours for SIMS, but the AL offered very little help. I spent 1.5 hrs trying to answer, and then another .5 sitting there wondering what just happened. sigh

So, in the range of what everyone is saying, 1.5 to 2 hours. Good luck with your exam!

Totally agree with 10key. Many people are lucky and can find most answers to SIMs in AL, but that does not work for all SIMs. I had 2 that I was able to research answers for. The other ones, AL was no help. It really depends.

2 hrs. That was the most time I had ever budgeted for Sims. Used AL to answer 2 of my Sims word-for-word. Had around 20 min to spare to check my work and catch some mistakes.

I tried to finish MCQ in 1.5 hours, leaving myself 2.5 hours to complete the simulations for AUD. This left enough time to really dive deep into the AL for any questions I wasn't certain of. Just make sure you don't go SO fast through MCQ that you fall into the wording traps.
