My 3rd attempt at FAR is this Saturday. I have been trying to motivate myself to re-study for the past 4+ weeks with little success. I’m sitting here on Sunday with all day to study, and I cannot get rid of the anxious feeling in my stomach. I try to read and take MCQs, and I just lose focus. What can I do? I’ve tried exercise, taking my dogs for a walk, extra water, coffee, food, everything I can think of. I don’t feel prepared for this section, and now I’m wondering if I should take it or reschedule. What do other people do to refocus and lose this awful dreadful feeling? I feel like giving up.

lol…@bonanza1010 thanks 🙂 Sometimes money isn't always the most motivating factor though. I already make more than the median salary for a CPA, and I work for a great organization. I guess that's what is making it hard for me…like I don't really need my CPA…I just want it so that I can have more opportunities down the road and just the status of having a CPA…It's like it validates being an accountant.

I feel your pain with not having the motivation to study. I was supposed to take my retake of AUD this week, but rescheduled it to the beginning of October because I want to pass this time around. Just like you, I have lacked the motivation to sit and study for the past few weeks, ever since the last score release because I failed BEC again. But I've found that motivation again through this last score release, by seeing people who have finished the exam completely, or failed yet again. I want to be one of those people, some day soon, that is done with the exam. My motivation is to be done with studying and be able to move on in my career. I'm stuck in my career until I pass this exam.

Bonanza posted about the salaries, but that doesn't motivate me to study. Yes, I want a great salary, but to me, the job is better than the salary. I want to love my job and love going to work everyday. When I pass this exam, I can finally get that job. With the area I live in, it's not possible for me to get that job until I pass this exam.

Sometime if u gain confidence, u gain more energy to study

I can study allllll day if i get good grades on mcq on the materials that i know

But i suffer and i get stress when i do the parts that i donno

So if u have one module that u suffer for an hour, re-do that material

Since u have been doing that for an hour, now it will only take u 45min.

And then re-do it again. You'll almost get 100 on it and feel like u master the materials. Then you'll gain some confidence and it will give some energy to continue the journey.

@clarissa – Thanks…I feel your pain with your recent 72. That's what I got on FAR last time I took it. I have found poking around on another71 does help reading everyone's experiences. I'm trying to read my notes today and take some MCQs. If I don't feel prepared soon though, I just might reschedule like you.
