Between tonight and the day of my AUD exam (Feb 25th), I have at least 35 hours to dedicate to studying. … note, I’ve been studying since mid-Jan so I’m not just now jumping on it. šŸ™‚

I’ve been using the Wiley Testbank and NINJA notes/audio and have been scoring 80% plus on MCQs but not so great on Sims.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to spend my time for the next week to make sure I am also prepared for the Sims? I was thinking of rereading chapters for some of my weaker areas and spending a few hours going over ALL Sims in the testbank again, one by one.Not sure if this is the best route to go so I appreciate any advice.

I just took Audit the other day. I felt the multiple choice questions were a little tricky, but the sims ruined me. I think it's safe to say that I prepared for the wrong types of questions. I have been using Becker and made sure that I knew the ins and outs of the sims from the two practice exams. Needless to say, those types of questions weren't the ones represented.

My advice is to take a look at the AICPA sample tests.

    https://apps.aicpa.org/CBTeSampleTest/SampleTestInstPreMet2.html

I only discovered them after I took the exam. The questions weren't identical, but for the most part they showed the flavor of the questions that were represented in the simulation section on the actual exam. All I can say is that I wish I would have looked at them before I took AUD. I guess the bad news is, barring a miracle, I'll look at them before I take AUD for the 2nd time.

    Good luck!

Get through the MCQ's as efficiently as possible to leave time for the SIMs. Time permitting, if you can use the authoritative literature, it is a savior.

I barely studied SIMs at all because AUD is so concept-based. I got to the SIMs with plenty of time to spare and used every last minute to look answers up in the authoratative literature. I found a lot of my answers word for word in the literature that I wouldn't have known on my own.

I received a 92 on AUD and that literature just flat out saved me on the SIMs… I felt that I crushed the SIMs due to finding a lot of the answers in the lit.

    FAR - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER)
    AUD - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES)
    BEC - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES)
    REG - 2013 - PASSED (YAEGER + NINJA NOTES + NINJA AUDIO)

    ETHICS - 2013 - PASSED

DONE!!! Thank you A71 for all the support! Hiya!!!

g.rosen- OMG! Thanks so much for the reminder on the AICPA released questions. I looked at these before I went into my last round with AUD and they really helped. I will take a look at those tonight actually. I hope you did well on the exam, and if you have to take it again don't sweat it… just keep trying! (look at me.. I'm still truckin :P)

mdrobbin- Great idea. Funny because my last round with AUD when I scored a 73 I had over 2 hours just for SIMS but I think I rushed through them. šŸ™ This next time I will be determine to use every last second on that clock if I have to just to make sure I'm as certain on the SIMS as possible.
