If you get a question lots answered correctly WRONG, does it hurt your score a lot? more so than if I correctly answered a complicated one no one else is likely to get right?

I've never seen anything giving specific details, but, based on what the AICPA has said about scoring, my logic would be as follows. Each question is assigned a weight indicating its difficulty level and your score is based on how heavily your correct answers are weighted. Now, if most people get a question right, it makes sense that it probably has a lower weight than one that most people miss. So, if you miss an easier question but get a tougher one correct, the overall effect should be in your favor.

Of course, none of this takes into account other factors that the AICPA considers when determining your score or the fact that the tough question might be a test question that doesn't count.

Isn't it amazing what we think about while waiting and waiting and waiting?

    REG 4/29/11 - 80
