Is it possible to study for 2 parts of the exam in only a month!

I am fresh out of college and after a few weeks of vacation am beginning to study for the CPA. I start with a big 4 firm Oct.1st and am looking to try and pass 3 parts of the exam prior to my start date. I am using Becker self-study and have no job or other commitments until I start in October.

I figure I will take 2 exams in a window so I will thinking of taking one long exam (FAR/REG) paired with a shorter one (AUD/BEC) each window. I plan on taking FAR& BEC in August, which gives me about a month to study for them. Is it possible to study for both within a month, given I have no job/ kids and can study like a mad man? Also I am an extremely good test taker and graduated amongst the top of my class. I would then take REG/AUD in October but will be working then. However I would have been studying the entire black out month of September.

Thank you in advance for your help!

If I were going to pair two in August it would be FAR and AUD, because there is significant overlap between the two. I think FAR and BEC can be done together but having taken them all those are the two I'd match up.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

I was thinking the same thing about pairing FAR/AUD (although AUD and REG do have the professional responsibilities crossover).

If you need to do this, maybe study ~50 hours a week for the next 4 weeks and take FAR in mid August, then study for 2 weeks and take AUD at the end of August?

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

If you are fresh out of school and not working full time yet, then give it your best shot!!! FAR and Audit are a good pair as there is significant overlap. In the same school of thought, BEC after Audit I found to be a successful paring due to overlap on things like internal controls and such. What review course will you be using?

    REG: 75 DONE 🙂
    AUD: 61, 71, 68, 92 DONE 🙂
    BEC: 76 DONE 🙂
    FAR: 72, 74, 79 DONE 🙂

Thank you all for your responses! I will take FAR and Audit together as you all mentioned.

I will be using Becker Self study and can definitely devote 50 hours a week to studying. Would it be better to study for both test simultaneously and then review a week before each test individually or to take a course of action that Kimboroni suggested; study 4 weeks for FAR and then cram AUD in 2 weeks?

I'd choose the second option, personally

Agreed on 4 weeks for FAR and 2 for AUD. AUD isn't difficult if you get the basic concepts, and especially with the overlap for FAR, I think 2 weeks is (somewhat) reasonable. FAR is just such a HUGE test with so danged much information, I'd give it as much time as possible.

    FAR - 79 (11/27/13)
    AUD - 76 (2/1/14)
    REG - 77 (5/30/14)
    BEC - 88 (7/18/14)

    MN Ethics - 100% (3/9/14)

    AND DONE! 8/1/14
