When I start taking my test, can I just start writing down all the ratios on the scratch paper they give me??

    B 2/12 87
    A 11/11 90
    R 8/11 86
    F 5/12 88

Yes, you can! I have done that. It is your paper, just make sure you login in first, because I have heard stories people writing things down first and the 10 minutes to login has passed and there is nothing they can do at Prometric.

I definitely did that, especially for audit. It's perfectly OK, I'd even encourage it. Why wait until you get to the problem, start to get nervous, and confuse an equation? I love writing down facts that I remember, if nothing else it gives you confidence that you remembered some of what you studied.

    BEC - 84
    FAR - 71, 80
    REG - 82
    AUD - 78 - Passed! Done!

I do that it helps a lot. Infact what i do is memorize key points for each paragraph that I can fit in one page and write them over and over ..first thing I do when I sit is write all those points down.

I do that as well, OMG, so helpful especially for FAR with all those formulas.

But is it true once you ask for a new piece of scratch paper, they will take your old one (with the useful equations/notes on it) away?

Yes, I got to first section then spent 10 min writing every numonic I memorized for AUD. Worked excellent because every thing was written down so all I had to do was look at my sheet. I did practice writing it out. I used double numonic. One Master for sections then individual words.

Don't bother doing that. It's a waste of time. Whenever you see a question on a particular ratio, quickly look down and write down the formula without even reading the rest of the question. Once you have your formula written down, look up at the screen and THEN read the entire question and the choices.

But we do get a lot of time to take audit. Seems like a decent idea. I'm not too great at straight up memorization since I'm getting older. (almost 25).

    @ misanthrope –

Gasp. You're almost 25? Geez, throw in the towel, it's all over for you! 😉

For real though, if there are any points you struggle remembering, I think it's worth writing it down as soon as you get in there. I did that for a couple of items. Once I had it written down, I could focus on the exam without worrying about forgetting that information. Good luck!

I did write down the ratios and numonics for AUD. It helped me big time!!

    AUD – (10/11/11) 82

    FAR – (11/29/11)

    REG – (JAN'12)

    BEC – (FEB'12)

I'm confused as to the timing of writing things down…we can write on the paper prior to the clock ticking but after we sign in right?

I took REG today. As with AUD and BEC, once the prometric staffer has seated me and BEFORE I enter my launch code(as this is when the time starts ticking) I write down as many memonics as I can as fast as I can. No more than a couple of minutes doing this though.

this is not advised by my teacher (yaeger cindy)… its better to wait to get into the exam and write yr mnemonics!!!!!very dangerous to do it prior or u clld be logged out till next window.
