Hello guys, I was wondering, I feel that i use the Left Ctrl and Shift keys so much that i am having some sort of moderate pain whenever i use these fingers for any shortcuts. usually to copy/paste, navigate through excel…

The fingers affected mostly are the pinky and ring finger (both on my left hand)…

I was wondering if anyone had similar problems, if yes, is it something that i should pay attention to, have a Dr visit, or have you found that some exercise would help?

    Thanks for your input,

Disclaimer: I am not seeking medical advice, nor will any opinions give will be treated as such lol I’m just wondering if others had this problem.

I have the same problem. I saw a doctor about it and he said it was just the awkward way we are using our hands on keyboards. 50 years ago this wasn't a problem but it's becoming more and more prevalent today. If it starts to get really bad, swells or if the joints turn red, then I'd see a doctor but other than that I think it's pretty normal for people in our profession.

Thanks Kricket for your input. I'm sorry accountants have to choose between using shortcuts and joint pain!

and vanadium3, I'm not pretending that i do not suffer from back pain. I sadly think that topic would be a hit around here.
