I need to vent…..my 7 year old daughter has been a royal pain in my bum lately. I know it’s cause “Mommy’s studying all the time”, but what she said to me today…..argrrrrrrrr. She asked if she could have something and I said no cause money is really tight right now with my husband not working and paying for these exams. So she said “oh maybe you should work more, so we have more money.” I guess it’s not enough that I work full-time and study pretty much full-time to advance myself for my family. Sorry about the vent but I know there are more parents out there feeling the same thing.

    @jomarie

It is hard when money puts stress on life, gosh life is hard enough. Try not to be too upset with your daughter, she is probably saying those words and not really understanding what that implies…..I know that it is upsetting, but try to put it out of your head and keep your eye on the prize.

You really have alot on your plate, and you have hit it hard with 3 exams this window. That is amazing while working full time. I don't know how you do it, I am completely blown away, many kudos 🙂

Come on….eye of the tiger! Cue the Rocky music.

It must be so frustrating when you're trying so hard and have so many other things to deal with. Kids don't realize how the things they say can effect others, but it's hard not to let it get to you…

    You can do this!

My 7 year old doesn't quite get the magnitude of what I'm doing either. While reviewing last night he kept coming in the room asking me for $10 Pokemon cards, over and over again. I seriously thought about military school but I'll be nice mommy today after my exam.

Everything will be better next week on the camping trip 😉 Push through it!

Yeah, kids have a very hard time seeing past themselves and having even a smidge of empathy, ESPECIALLY for their parents. Sorry Jo. Maybe we should all get money trees!

Maybe I should send her to military school. She has been doing so many things that she knows she shouldn't. Like writing on the walls of her room (she's lucky it was in pencil), we have to scream her name to get her attention, but anyways. My husband and I talked about it last night before bed and I think this camping trip is what we all need. Hopefully she'll have a good time. If not, it's going to be a looooong trip and a long school year. I hope she snaps out of this after my exams are over.

Here is my ditty for the day:

I have two boys: one in his second year at the University of Knoxville, the other second year of high school. But in some ways, I think I now have two more: (ok, I am lovingly calling them kids, no disrespect here at all) my in laws. Here is a vent of a different color on kids and studying.

My in laws live nearby. So when my hubby is out of town, I try to check in with them.

    Here is my phone call:

Me: Morning…how are you guys doing? BTW Happy B-day!

MIL (mother-in-law) Thanks. Great. Your FIL (He has Alzheimer’s) is so good, he didn’t have to take his nighttime pill last night.

    Uncomfortable pause~

Me: Oh wow, that is good. (I don’t even have to hide my sarcasm, she doesn’t notice it, and this is a bonus!)

MIL: (Under her breath) Well today is good, but yesterday…ugh.

I wonder why she is talking under her breath, he can hear her. I realize that he doesn’t always understand, but this morning he was very lucid. Usually she talks about him in third person in front of him, which is tricky, but I am thinking, the gig is up, he is on to this.

Me: What happened? Is Gramps ok?

MIL: Well, he wanted to take the car out for a drive. (He hasn’t been able to drive in years. But sometimes he gets agitated and just wants to drive). I told him no, and he wouldn’t listen and he grabbed the keys. (I am thinking, I wish she should HIDE the keys like we keep asking her to do, because one time he went out for a joy ride and, thankfully, didn’t hurt himself or anyone else, but tore up the front of the car and ended up at Wal Mart talking with the cops) So, I called the Police.

Me: Why didn’t you call me, I would have come over? (Wow, I am thinking this is nuts, because why does stuff like this happen when my hubby is out of town?)

MIL: Well, I didn’t really call them, I hung up. (Ok, wait for it…) Your FIL straightened up after I told him I called. (And, here it is…) But they called back! I wasn’t expecting that. They were very nice.

Me: Well, yes, the police and fire dept. always call back.

MIL: Anyway, it all turned out, I didn’t want to bother you, and so I handled it. (Now I am overridden with guilt because that translated, as she didn’t want to interrupt my studying.) Well, your FIL is very excited about our guests arriving today (yikes, he didn’t take a night time pill, Lord, please make this day ok) I let him buy 3 (only 3) big bottles of Dr. Pepper as a treat. (OMG, really? Like sugar and caffeine won’t affect him? She knows this. What, is she going to give him ice cream next? You don’t want to hear about that!!! It is that role reversal, the kids become the parents…so, I do what any parent in the right mind would do, I let it slide, because today is her b-day)

    Tomorrow my MIL—she’s grounded! Hehehe

    Back to mcq’s…

I feel your pain. I finally decided to do the CPA because I had 2 kids and they had my full devotion, but I felt incomplete, and it has been really hard. I have a 7 years old boy and a 4 year old daughter, working full time on a CPA firm, doing everything at home, doing homeworks with both kids and then when everything is over, very late at night, I study. But I know it will pay off. So far I had passed 2 parts on my first attempt and I am pending my score on audit and studying for Financial, God permits will be my last part, and on Christmas I will be celebrating. We just have to be positive and confident on ourselfs.

I am using Becker and I think it is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    REG (2/17/11) – 85

    BEC (5/27/11) – 83

    AUD (7/15/11) – waiting

FAR (11/23/11) – maybe sooner, depending on how stressed I am, lol

yankee, you have your hands full!!

Thanks for cheering me up today ;)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

It has been a bad day with my *bleeping* exam, Hurricane Irene coming to my beach place, the earthquake that just hit and worst of all, my botched pedicure.

Good Karma will come to you.
